'Proven' but you accept that false tests happen.

Footballers are 'incredibly low risk' yet 6 players tested positive (if we can trust the results) yesterday.

Give your head a wobble and just accept that there are lies, damn lies and statistics. Always has been and always will be.

100,000 tests done on April 30 because that's what Hancock said would happen. No, 100,000 tests were done because Hancock said that they were. Lies, damn lies and statistics. It's not rocket science.

'that an infected person doesn't start transmitting the virus within such a short time frame'. Imagine that you knew that I had contracted COVID today, would you really play football with me today then gladly go back to your family later on? Really?

We have a different opinion on this.

I would go to work if I everyone in my company had tested negative. I choose to accept the views of doctors from all over the world that say it isn't transmitted as soon you contract it. You are incredibly risk averse, I'm prepared to accept the exceptionally low risk.

Low risk, didn't equate to catching the virus. To make it clearer to you, I meant low risk from sadly dying from the disease or being moderately/severely ill - it wasn't rocket science. I'd be surprised if that's not what you had interpreted from that comment of mine anyway.

I'm aware statistics aren't entirely accurate, even more so depending on the source of them. The government are clutching at straws and a case in point. They're trying to save face and using any test kit they can get their hands on. The Premier league are sourcing them privately from one company, with verifiable results. Of course, statistics and accuracy can't be guaranteed, but they give you a degree/level of confidence. It would be interesting to know what this is. The company in question have been doing tests since the beginning of the year, so it can be assumed this degree of confidence is very high.

We disagree, 99% of people on this forum lean on your side, not mine. When should football start again? Should it be when testing is no longer required?

I still believe this season should have been cancelled or some other conclusion to start again in August. That's based on the competition, in my view, becoming a farce with barely any integrity.

Football should start the later of either when I am allowed to get within 2 metres of my parents OR when other contact sports, such as rugby, start.

The Premier league are following the guidelines for all elite sport and are going further than the recommendations by completing testing of the players. That is to say, rugby can restart training with social distancing and (I checked) rugby England have said clubs can open. My opinion - The choice of Rugby clubs/league shouldn't influence another sport. Elite sport can only start when the government gives their approval - they haven't as yet, singled out football for a special case.

As that will probably likely happen (which would be a good thing because it would hopefully reflect the 'R' rate staying below 1) then is it fair to say we're waiting for us all to be able to see our parents?

I don’t wanna see your parents

Haven’t got a problem with training given social distancing. The issue is playing and getting within 2 metres of each other. It’s an absolute farce. Players sat on the bench 2m apart wearing masks whilst players on the pitch are breathing and sweating over each other.

Yeah I find that a farce too. On the other hand, If they were all sat on the bench next to each other, I suspect people would complain and then they'd publicly have to address it. Then they'd eventually go to social distancing to mitigate the risk of players being within 2m of eachother when they don't have to be. Probably easier to just go to straight to it, not forgetting that some players might want it this way. Can understand why they've done it.

Think its ridiculous in a pyramid system of leagues that the ones that will suffer the most get abandoned,it was never about integrity and fairness,it was about feeding the rich clubs

Said this all along. The PL are forgetting the knock on effect on whatever they go ahead with.

Aimes president on forced relegation

Regret and a sense of injustice. “We were still due to play the three teams directly above us in the table. This decision is unjust. It makes no sense. It has no basis. It is a punitive decision. Sport and competition make me tick. When you fail in competition, you lose and you move on. But here, we didn’t lose. We’re being relegated by administrative means. And I cannot accept that.”

Joannin acted immediately, putting a proposition to the FFF and LFP to void the relegations and expand the division to 22 teams next season. His proposal noted that the extra four games per season could simply be fitted into the slots left open by the defunct Coupe de la Ligue and, to allay financial concerns, Amiens would give up a share of television rights, as well as saving the LFP the need for parachute payments. “It really was a fair proposition which, in an exceptional situation caused by Covid-19, would have been a humane, solidarity solution, penalising no one financially.”

Joannin’s appeals to reconsider fell on deaf ears, so he took legal action. His appeal to the Paris administrative tribunal is due to be heard this week. “To be clear, we are not asking for any financial compensation. What we want is the cancellation of the arbitrary relegation of Amiens. Full stop. We believe that the legal arguments are in our favour. I believe in French justice and I believe that we will be proven right.”

Extremely difficult to argue against this. It simply isn't fair to relegate clubs in this way.
