Extremely difficult to argue against this. It simply isn't fair to relegate clubs in this way.

I agree but I think their rules covered the unprecedented situation where this happens and it was wrote in that the table stands. I don’t know if that’s true or just a rumour that’s been said that many times it’s now taken as fact but if it is, I don’t think they’ll have a leg to stand on.

Here it would be much different as that rule does not exist.

Haven’t got a problem with training given social distancing. The issue is playing and getting within 2 metres of each other. It’s an absolute farce. Players sat on the bench 2m apart wearing masks whilst players on the pitch are breathing and sweating over each other.

Yes but same players will have probably had three tests at least until they get to that stage , negative tested players can’t catch it off other negatively tested players , football would not start until a vaccine there would be no other way by your reasoning is that what you propose

I was thinking at somepoint commonsense would prevail but no they are really that stupid. Good luck to them and I hope no one (or more likely only a few) suffer from these decisions.

If the PL kicks off and I can't go play footie with my mates in the park then we all know it's just one big £££ exercise.

(Yes they get tested and we don't before anyone adds)

Made this point to my Kopite mate the other day to which he replied; 'But stopping a team who are 25 points clear from winning the league is fair?'

Suppose he has a point like, but thats the problem, theres no completely 'fair' way to deal with it

I think it's fair to end the season now with them as champions, like if you took took some super advanced Footy Manager on steroids like simulations for the remaining games based off the data they'd probs win the league 99 times out of 100 on the current points but at the same time I reckon the bottom 3 and european spots would vary loads and you'd get a different outcome almost every time.

They really should call of the season now, award them the title, don't relegate and promote. European spots just either same as last season or a lottery for the clubs still in contention (maybe weight teams probability in the lottery off of current points).

No matter what happens next, this season will always carry a footnote. It could never he regarded as a proper season. It will always be marked with an asterix.
The final league tables of cold statistics, points, goals for and against, wins losses, none of it will tell the true story of a disrupted season and its money driven conclusion.

This, London hasn't reported a single Covid death in the last 48 hours and with most of the establishment being London based and therefore London centric - the massively reduced risk in the capital will produce a feeling of it's the right time to relax some of the measures.

Other parts of the UK, Scotland Wales and parts of the north of England aren't nearly as very low risk, indeed Scotland is possibly now worse than anywhere.

With neutral grounds proposed, there are now parts of southern and middle England where the risk is very low.

Chris, there's going to be a full Goodison worth of death's soon. In countries were there is many, many fewer deaths, they aren't even planning to play football anytime soon. You didn't answer my last question of why you think anyone will be able to force the most powerful entity in football, the players, to play the game in a county that has so obviously made such a pigs arse of managing the crisis?

I don’t think anyone will force them , most of what I’m seeing from the clubs is it’s ok and understandable if you feel that bad about playing we won’t force you , the fact is not that many seem to be in that frame of mind .
