Training will get voted back in, shops will open, fingers crossed loads of things move on as it means we’re getting back to normal and I expect they will but all that matters to each club is what’s best for them. Make no mistake about it as soon as the talks eventually stop and they have to ask the question......are clubs prepared to resume playing in a different format to the one they started the season with, they won’t get 14 clubs saying yes.

It’ll go the exact way the vote on considering playing BCD at neutral stadiums went, the majority will vote against it.

Resuming training is looking to be trying to do the right thing, they’ll all vote for that. Ultimately there’s only question to be answered and the clubs themselves make that decision no one else.

The relegation threatened teams have been thrown a lifeline and unless relegation gets taken off the table they’re not going to let it go.
Ok fair points but maybe we differ on the clubs I do think 14 will vote for it as it’s all down to cash

You only have to use them things either side of your head and your eyes to accept the vast majority do unless there telling porkies if you don’t think I’d like to see evidence even our own captain has said it .

My point is, as it has been all along. If the players don't want to play, they won't. It won't be Sky or the premier league dictating to them like everyone is saying. The players have the power and hold the key. Whether they want to play or not will be known very soon.

Undoubtedly but there is just so little opposition to it from what I can see besides maybe one handful of players who have objected can’t see any reason bar a huge rise in infections to change that

But there are only 6 clubs in real danger of relegation.

Which leaves 14 votes.

The 6 at the bottom are definite. The 3 above the relegation spots have told us so and the 3 in the relegation zone won’t vote for it so as you say it only takes 1 more. Southampton aren’t safe, there’s nothing to say they’ll just settle for shutting up shop where they are now and then that’s 7.

We’ve only had 2 votes up to now, 1 about starting light training, 1 about BCD in neutral stadiums which they thought clubs were in favour of, they weren’t, in fact only about 4 or 5 clubs were. They've now got to convince the government to let them play in their own stadiums or we may already be done.

I think there’s loads of ulterior motives here, clubs saying all the right things in public, paying lip service but behind the scenes I think it’ll be a bit different. There were quotes coming out of Spurs and Sheff United earlier in the season that they didn’t want to carry on but then they all seemed to go quiet. Sheff Utd will be made up with Europe and prize money at PPG top 6 finish will give them if it ends now regardless of what they say in public. Why will they gamble dropping out the top 10. City, they may vote cancel knowing they’re not going to be effected financially whilst there rivals Liverpool and United are going to be damaged more than anyone by this. If Usmanov is backing us looking to get around FFP, we may do the same. Leicester and Chelsea will vote cancel as they’ll be in the CL when they use PPG to decide prize money and final positions but no relegation or title.

What we do know from the BCD vote that got voted down so convincingly, they’re not quite as desperate to get back as they’re saying in public.

We also know they’re talking about what they’re going to do if the season gets curtailed later this week. As The Chairman Richard Scudamore said, curtailing is still on the table.

Can see you make a good case for individual teams curtailing and ppg but If that happens then relegation / winners and europe qualification will definitely happen and has already been stated as far as I’m aware . As for prize money a curtailment to ppg there won’t be any in fact there will be money owed , a huge sh#*storm it is but I suppose in a few weeks it will be revealed

Fair enough mate, im almost certain this will go ahead, but we shall see.

Can you link where this was stated please?
Had a quick look , this is behind a paywall but the beginning is quite clear . I read a full article somewhere stating similar and about the powers the FA have over the premier league

We already know the terminology regards the use of void. You are conflating the verbs void and curtail are you?

They haven't voted yet so we don't know what kind of opposition there is. They haven't asked the managers and players to make a vote yet.

The direction of travel indicates a restart. That’s what the football authorities appear to want. The one single thing that will stop this train won’t be individual footballers expressing reluctance, it’ll be a return back to April-levels of death and contagion.

Well if you ended up with 200 togger players refusing to play I'd say that could stop it.

I'm not saying they will, but it isn't just about number of deaths (and I just want to point out how fkin ridiculous that sounds and I'm not having a dig at you but deaths should never enter a conversation about football) but if there is a reluctance to take risks then they won't play its as simple as that.

Hopefully by the time the end of June does come deaths are down to 0 and its 100% safe for the players to continue so for the people who are desperate for this season to be completed it can be done asap and get it over and done with

It has already been said that everyone's way of life has been changed for a good few years and to think say you hope deaths will be down to 0 in just 4 weeks time seems to be nigh on impossible that quickly, and maybe if ever. So in that case, what do you think is acceptable for football and a as normal a way of life is possible to start up again (or do you think we should wait until 0 deaths?)
