I have laid a few quid on the betting exchanges at very very short prices on this not going ahead. It's currently 1/100 that the PL comes back in June; absolute Madness, Government changing their minds all over the place, too many variables.

I think that is very very good odds at present. There's little doubt it's neither appropriate or safe to continue but there is an enormous will do so anyway. A trigger point could blow it out of the water.

I'd also say, the fact they are taking so much care about the Goodison derby alarms me. So it doesn't have a safety certificate because of the tunnel? Are they aware they are playing a contact sport? Or that other grounds have tunnels? Or that it will be a risk factor for games other than the derby if thats the case? And if one ground is a risk factor what does it do for the rest of the league?

It sounds like there is still a lot of backside covering and things still need to be signed off, which unless deaths go down very quickly seems unlikely.

I'll make another prediction, they play the midweek round, get everyone even in games, and potentially move to PPG. I could see that emerging.

What does this safety certificate? It seems to revolve around the tunnel and the r number in the North West. One should be affecting other grounds in the North West, the other relates to every ground that has a tunnel? If Goodison Park is a problem, why is it only highlighted for 1 game?

As usual none of it makes any sense. Are we going to be playing all our games at Tottenhams ground?

What are the current covid stats in the uk? Australia had zero new cases yesterday and it must have been about 2 weeks ago we had our last fatality. Due to the low numbers, the AFL league is starting again this weekend.
South Australia is permitting 2000 people to attend AFL (in a 50,000 capacity stadium) and all other states are still behind closed doors.

Yeah, it's all fine over here mate, there's only 200-300 dying every day still, but it's ok, that number will drop soon due to all the protest ralleys.

It seems a perfectly natural decision to decide football should resume. A minor hiccup yesterday that man utd had to cancel their warm up match because the opposition manager tested positive for the virus. Perhaps a tad lucky half of the united squad didn't get infected.

I'm sure if that happens in the league, they'll just postpone the game.

Joe Anderson must have just entered this universe from Mars, if he thinks that lot wont turn up. The league should never restart.

Merseyside derby given go-ahead to be staged at Goodison Park

"The mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson thanked both clubs for making it clear to supporters that their presence at or near the ground would not be welcome".

The clubs also make it clear to supporters that there is No smoking, No standing and No foul and abusive language

This has the makings of a very dark day in football history.
