Pubs in Liverpool

I’m not really familiar with any of the pubs around town in Liverpool despite having been on numerous occasions to the city (mostly with the mrs and she doesn’t drink or have any interest in pubs), but are there are any other pubs close to the new ground aside from the Bramley Moore, when I visited last time the area appeared so tired and neglected, even the Bramley Moore looks like it’s seen better days to be fair.

Sadly all the old dock road pubs are gone mate, there’s nothing there, other than the Bramley Moore now.

Agree with all of those. It seems from feedback on this thread I certainly need to plan a trip to The Denbigh at my earliest convenience! 🍻

The above, Peter Kav’s and Lanigans 👍

The Denbigh is good any night of the week and I'll never stop recommending it

Gets a bit overly rammed on matchday now that it has become the pub for Blues in town, but it's still great

The Bull on the corner of Dublin St and Great Howard St wouldn't be a bad walk and was a great little pub in its day I think it is still open

Boozers used to be shut between 3 pm to 5 pm.

We have posted in the Oldies thread, how this gave rise to a lot of illegal drinking clubs around the Matthew Street area.

Brilliant places, full of proper Liverpool 'characters'.
Ah is that right? I bet there must be some stories from then. I’ve often wondered what Matthew st was like before the tourists . I’ll have to look into that thread 👍
