Pubs in Liverpool

My favourite around that way is the Edinburgh, next door to Marines ground.

They always have a couple of decent beers on and I love the layout, with proper bar, a snug and a lounge, with a real mix of clientele.

The Crows Nest is similar, but you can get some real beer snobs in there.

I do like the bug. If I’m up in Liverpool over Christmas I have a meet-up there with old friends on Boxing Day.

The Cambridge (or locally known as the Cambo) isn’t a bad pub either. It’s a Marstons, so the selection isn’t stellar, but it’s still decent.

Another nice one for sitting outside in the Summer.

The ale in their used to amongst the worst in town for a long time. It was strictly bottles only

As I’ve said before, that was because the landlord Jess was a bad scruff, who would actually drink the slops, and what’s worse a mixture of them.

I made the massive mistake of going into The Grapes on Matthew Street awhile back.

Crap pint of Guinness (£5.95) and served in a manky John Smiths glass.

A minging tourist hellhole.

There was only two in China Town - the Nook and can’t remember the name of the other, but it was modern.

Both have gone.

@Bedwas Toffee The same fella runs both Kelly's on Smithdown and the Dispensery hence why he's got Murphy's on in both,Good lad Connor helps that he's Irish like....shame he's a dirty stinking Kopite.

Another personal favourite of mine is The Eddie off the High st in Wavertree...Good Guinness, considering they only have Extra Cold.
