Quarter Finals

Imagine being Kane going back to Spurs training and bumping in the lloris

How does your significant other put up with such sexist views?
They are not sensitive views, just an observation of the facts. Women make great newsreaders and chat show hosts but they don't have to infiltrate a tradional male past time especially the mens version of it.

We were the better side I thought.

France dominated the first 25-30 mins then played on the counter all game.

Cant really blame Southgate for Kane fluffing his lines.
Indeed.

England were the better side tonight. France were cowardly having established a lead, sat back, invited pressure, had no control of the game, and were lucky not to be dragged into extra time by their idiot defenders. Mbappe was a non-entity. It took a bit of old-school Giroud and a penalty sponsored by NASA to take them through. England will have big regrets as a result. Morocco, admirable as they are and all that sentimental stuff, are exactly the kind of side a team with serious designs on winning want to face for a place in a final.

In the end, it's another quarter-final for England - about their traditional level. And, as usual, they lose to the first serious side they play. In an era with an historically poor Germany and Italy, a Spain mired in ideology, and no great sides from Holland, Brazil, or Argentina, this has to go down as a huge missed opportunity. Still no win on foreign soil against a top level power in World Cup knockouts. Being reliably good at hammering minnows - which England, unlike many other so-called powers, have been at this tournament - is not enough. This France side was beatable. I hope there is no scapegoating of Kane or Southgate. This kind of thing has a price tag that will be settled in the future as the level of expectation crushes good players. England gave it a good go tonight. France may now win it, but I have my doubts. The overall standard is pretty mediocre...

Aye it was a good weekend of football in fairness, great entertainment
It not long now and it will be all over and then it’s back to Everton, I hope they learn to play football again, if I had to pair the way we are to a performance in the World Cup, it would have to be the way Switzerland played against Portugal, that really reminded me of the way we play.

Made up that the little chav rat didn't get his moment of glory. A truly unlikeable character if you ask me. One of the reasons why I can't get behind the national team; always too many cockroaches in the ranks.
Foden really was crap. (Unusual for me to watcha full game of England's) All game he perhaps did 1 good thing where he cut inside. Thats not enough of a return for a starting spot. He is all about himself.

He should have achieved more with that group, it’s a psychological issue with England, until they bridge that they will be predictable in going out in tournaments like this.

Its hard to think of a better opportunity then this, Germany hit the skids, Brazil and Spain taken out, no Italy, France ravaged with injury, Morocco in a Semi, massive opportunity gone missing. Also that could be Kanes last World Cup, certainly in his prime.

Where do England go from here…..Poch, can’t see it.…Eddie Howe if he was getable I think would be the archetypal FA choice.
Should be someone English IMO. And the only 2 credible candidates are not available at the moment

I think that's the damning issue there for Southgate. I was always sure that France even with those injuries would beat England. They have no self-belief. That comes from the manager.

Also, he's been waffling on about building a great young side for the future. The fact is, this England side arn't great. They aren't good enough to win a tournament, despite all the BS from the media and their fans (on here too shamefully).

After about 6 years he has nothing. That lot are nowhere near it.
It’s a long term psychology with England teams since Sir Alf stepped down and even he blew a quarter final as holders in 1970
