Quarter Finals

I question how talented he really is tbh.

Yes, he's a decent player. But he's in the Bundesliga where most teams are pretty ropey, and he's played well for England against a few dodgy international teams.

If I were United or Liverpool Ild be waiting this one out to see what he could really offer.

Found out last night big time.
Well he isn't Bobby Charlton, that's for sure. I mean, I think he's got massive potential at 19 - and Dortmund is a great club for him to develop at both on and off the pitch - but the last time England produced a player of unquestionable brilliance was Wayne Rooney. He was a force of nature at Euro 2004. That injury in the quarter-final was a real sliding doors moment for England. After that, he was never a force in a major tournament ever again. I blame Alex Ferguson (and Bill Kenwright).

Semi

QF against WC holders

You might dislike Southgate but you can't really argue he hasn't done well with a notorious flopper national team.

It's a brilliant record but they've been poor for the last year and he only achieved what was expected at this World Cup. Can he do better at the Euros next time around or could someone else come in with fresh ideas and take the team up a level? I'd take a gamble with the latter but as I said before it won't even be in the FA's thinking.

Should do one more tournament IMO. Players don’t want him to go which is telling. And Howe and Potter are not available. ”Only doing what was expected” is not necessarily to be sniffed at considering our record from 2008-2016

He is 19 ffs

Just because he had the gall to talk to Henderson you seem to have taken a weird dislike to the lad.

Was it his best game, no, although he did have a cracking shot saved at the start of the second half.

Don’t know why you even bother engaging.

If the lad was utter garbage, Dave would be on here saying how he’s the best talent that England has ever produced.

England are ranked between 5 and 8 in the world. They finished in the spots 5-8.

They pretty much did what it says on the tin. No more, no less
Nonsense to go by those rankings when you see Belgium are ranked number 2, Qatar are number 50 and Wales are ranked ahead of Morrocco and host of teams they are much worse than, clearly need a large dollop of salt when looking at those ratings. Anyway back to England, they won't get a better chance to win it, France were missing a key striker, both starting midfielders, their left full and one central defender iirc, they were there for the taking. England would play a banged up Morocco team in the semi final and at worse they would have gone into the final 50/50 if not outright favs so no idea how people could think they achieved as much as possible to achieve, they have blew a huge chance to progress, this is a tournament that they let get away from them.

That's what people have said after each of the last 3 tournaments. "Never a better chance to win than this." Until the next tournament 2 years later

France were missing key players, but have such depth that looking at both teams man for man, they still had better players in every department.

The good thing is that now England are matching France in terms of the quality of player being produced, they are just a few years behind. It won't be long before England are genuinely at a similar level to France.

England don't have that winning mentality when they come up against a team that does it is never convincing with England
The ref was a bit strange he let things go and was fussy on other things he also looked confused like he didn't know the rules when he was told to book the player for the 2nd pen which should really of been a red and the time it took to take the pen Kane had lost it in his head he should of just smashed it down the middle
