It's actually a crucial difference but then I'm not sure why I'd expect someone who can't tell the difference between something as far apart as the ability levels of Lloris and Pickford to figure that out.

Personally I thought Lloris was good in this particular match but overall I think he has faded the past coupe of years and generally I think Pickford is better. It seems to be fairly widespread belief too for example.

I was sick of the post before I had finished writing it. I’m sorry if you felt I was calling you or indeed England fans in general xenophobic, I was referring to Lee Dixon and his commentary on British television. To give you specific examples of what he said exactly I would need to replay the game, I can’t be bothered doing that. As I said the post was just my musings.

First time on since Friday.

For me, it was an even match. Very much like the Senegal game, England were far too passive in the first half. Second half Foden and Saka were getting the ball and going at them and on another day we would have won that match.

It wasn't to be, the ref was inept but that is not the reason we lost, it was simply a fairly even game that went the wrong way for us.

Looking at the ages and the performances in this world cup, the future is still bright enough to not feel too down.

Ok, I get it now. Lloris conceded one goal in this particular match whereas Pickford conceded 2 so Lloris is much better than Pickford.

Fact is, Lloris is and always has been a fantastic shot stopper but somewhat erratic on occaisions. He has, however become more erratic over the last few seasons.

Not much between them imo, if anything . Neither inspire much confidence.

You have to take into account that Lloris is 35 and on a downward spiral while Pickford is 28 and coming into his prime..
