Don't disagree with the rest, but this is so far from the truth it's unreal.

Carlo ancelotti managing Everton was a lovely idea and a lovely dream but in reality it was quite a horrific experience and he left because he's a slimy rat who couldn't hack the job he set out to do and got extremely lucky Jose turned Madrid down and fled back there
Utter rubbish.
Carlo was perfectly happy managing here, then the biggest Club in the world made him an offer to return there.

Anything else is just a preposterous rewriting of history to allow yourself to be angry at him for him leaving for a bigger job.

Perfectly happy being one of the highest paid managers in the world for producing absolute rubbish on the pitch for over 12 months.

Carlo ancelotti is/was one of the best ever managers, but purely based on his time at us he was horrific.

As soon as any top club come sniffing he would have went straight back purely on the fact he knew he couldn't do what was required here, not that I blame him? Why would he want to ruin his reputation. Let's not blame anyone but Carlo for why he left though

Weird how the Benitez haters harp on about him managing Liverpool 15 years ago yet worship the bloke who stabbed us in the back just 2 months ago.

lol...you're white-washing a lot of the soot off Barney Ancelotti in that post. I'd like to think it's a post made with slight tongue-in-cheek sardonic humour, else the only salient thing therein preposterous is your head in a lordly-sized bucket of sand lol

Horrific?? lol lol lol

We got 59 points last year and had an awesome away record. Granted our Home form was pretty poor but that is just consistency that needed worked on.

With the rate we've been going through managers, you start to realise that you like things about the new guy that the old guy didn't have. Almost irrespective of what it is.

I really liked Carlo's laid back, friendly demeanour after Silva's quiet and reserved manner.

But I've been impressed with Benitez's intensity in contrast to Carlo. His hunger comes through in his interviews - he wants to succeed with us, and you can't really argue with that.

Horrific yes, did you watch us? If any single person watched our football last year and didn't think it was horrific then hats off to you.

Good away record means nothing when you had one of our worst ever home records in history.

The feller wasn't arsed about being here.

There were a couple of personal reasons at play there too.

When did he find out about Madrid though? Could just be coincidence but there was a marked downturn in performances towards the end of the season.

I think that is just his managerial style. It works at a club that already has the tools to succeed. It would have took him a while to get a proper tune out of us if ever.

Fully agree mate, which is why he knew he wouldn't be able to succeed here unless we went out and bought him a top 4 squad which was never in a million years going to happen.

Again, I really don't blame him swapping Everton for Madrid, but it's deffo his fault for leaving and not ours.

...and nor do I care. He wasn't the Messiah, no more nor less than he was just a naughty boy. He's just a product of football... nowadays just more and more soulless, as these modern moneyed times predicate.
And the proletariat serfs?...the fans... they lap up all the bullshit their liege lords feed them, enabled by a decrepit and broken, bought-and-paid-for crony fourth estate...and eagerly entertained by their own impossibly dulled-down brains.

Stabbed us in the back? He actually gave us a favour. He should have been sacked, but we just couldn't afford that.
His departure gave us a golden opportunity to sign a young progressive manager, but Moshiri decided we need another washed up dinosaur, just worse and cheaper.
