McNeil plays left midfield, yes? Why are we after yet another left midfielder when we already have three in Richarlison, Gray, and Iwobi? Is it going to be like that time we wasted all the Lukaku money on buying five ultra crap number 10s?

I don't see us playing with two strikers, nor should we. It was Ancelotti's pandering to Richarlison's demands that caused us to massively drop off in the second half of last season.

Well, the Spanish 'tactical mastermind' has Gbamin, Kean + 3 new signings...while only losing one rarely seen squad player.

Probably £50mil worth of talent there.

The Italian master also decided not to use a second forward signed at Christmas and sent the Italian forward on loan, so circa 50m chose not to go se.

I would rather watch golf than watch what was served up to us last season. Almost anything will be an improvement.

Anyway, with City able to spend unbelievable sums, none of this really matters anymore. We really don’t have any chance of anything next season.

Barney Ancelotti had us playing fabulous football...and threatening to win the league. Barney was also a very principled man...loyal and very honest. When you consider all these truths, I can understand why so many people are upset at the choice for our new manager. Barney is irreplaceable...a winner. We will never be as good as were under Barney

Yep, super flat and can’t even be excited about the season only being a week away.

My hatred for Carlo increases when he was saying there would be money to spend, yet makes it easy to understand he was happy to jump ship as he probably knew we can’t spend.

i wish I understood the rules better to know how long will we be hamstrung by this FFP issue

As others have said I suspect our recruitment plans may have changed when Carlo jumped ship. We could still see some signings before the end of the window. The market has been quite slow so far.

Lots of stuff floating about regarding FFP. If it is profit and loss rules which are restricting us then I think we need to generate revenue from somewhere to stay within permitted levels. That could be from player sales or sponsorship I guess.

we always go in to a new season with false hope, so maybe having no hope actually bodes well
