we already have the league's best RB...yes, Seamus needs to work on his crosses, but were a PL first XI chosen today, Seamus would be the first name selected. Perhaps I view things a little distorted by blue tinted specs, but I also think Leighton Baines would be chosen as LB. Our squad is incredibly strong...I will be massively disappointed if we finish lower than 12th.

NSNO
He wouldn't get into any of the teams above us as starting rb.

5/6 years ago maybe. Not really sure what the point is about baines. Unless you are talking about that they would make our best ever PL XIs. In which case, they may well do, but doesn't mean they are good enough now but that they used to be.

Also, prepare to be massively disappointed.

I have to confess that you raise some very salient counterpoints to my earlier assertions...although your final point is a little redundant: I start every season prepared to be massively disappointed...

Don't get me wrong, I love Coleman. Think he has a part to play in the squad. But, we need a player who is the standard he was a few years ago.

And that's the only way to start a season when you support everton. Learned my lesson last season when I was actually hopeful for once. Never again.

I on the other hand start very season with a spring in my step and hope in my heart, last year it took nearly 2 months before reality bit.

Yes, those first couple of months were an anomaly...but the impending car-crash that is Everton, duly came through with the panel-beating goods!

As much as I was against the appointment, I thought the only reason benetiz would come, would be because he’d have had assurances with regard to a transfer budget. However as things have panned out, free and low fee signings, I’m beginning to think he’s just taken the job bolster his pension and living just over the water. I really hope I’m wrong. But every manager needs backing in the job. We cannot expect to compete with the squad in its current state.

There’s also an issue of credibility here I imagine. After, apparently, having been one of the leading advocates for sanctions against the SKY 6 over the Super League, it would look a bit ridiculous if the club just told the rest of the PL to take a running jump in respect of agreed financial rules.
I'm sure most wouldn't care if we decided to throw credibility to the wind after the joke of a punishment those 6 got for trying to literally kill competitive football and I think most fans at every club in the country are fed up of their clubs being suffocated by a rule set that only benefits clubs that are already rolling in money

Yep. He's got nothing to gain from the job beyond the pay, which is great for him, absolute mess of an appointment for us.

And yet there he is putting in the hours and being meticulous in preparation. Or so you think he's coaching them all to be losers. Looks like he's earning his pay in comparison the hands off (and I'm off) Carlo, and arrogant Koeman who played more golf than Trump.

Marco Silva used to be an extremely diligent worker who put in serious hours.

He was still terrible.

Efficient and effective over exhaustive and er, crap every time

Roberto put in even more hours than Silva if we’re now judging very highly paid football managers on whether they can be arsed doing some work..

Sake.

David Moyes, 13 years of hardwork, no trophies, one final.
