I have at no point called Benitez a mercenary.
He sold out to go to China, no doubt.
But, he wanted our job as it’s a piece of piss for him to get to from Calday.
And he gets paid well.

The very least I’d expect is to put the hours in..

As much as I was against the appointment, I thought the only reason benetiz would come, would be because he’d have had assurances with regard to a transfer budget. However as things have panned out, free and low fee signings, I’m beginning to think he’s just taken the job bolster his pension and living just over the water. I really hope I’m wrong. But every manager needs backing in the job. We cannot expect to compete with the squad in its current state.

If Rodriquez is sold, then that will be an ominous sign. Of course the pro Benitez crew, will spin it as a positive, but James Rodriquez is one of the very few players, of genuine class in that squad. I find it concerning, that Benitez seems to be happy enough with him leaving.

This manager is only here, to keep us ticking along in 8th to 10th place, until the new ground is built. I honestly think, that's his briefing from the board. I would love to be proven wrong, but looking at the players we've signed so far, and the rumours of the impending departure of Rodriquez, the signs are ominous. It's going to be a long season i think.
