The reality is that the only attainable manager close to Ancelotti's style who was free and available in our finance range was Benitez. Moyes would have been hammered just as badly, Dyche wouldn't have been given a chance by the cult because he's gruff and ginger so it leaves managers who play a different style/system which you need to sign 5-6 players of good quality to play that new system - with what money?

If you're not prepared to accept the financial reality of the club this summer then thats fine but don't take that out on the board and new manager who are doing their best in the situation we find ourselves in.

If you need to vent head down to Finch Farm and demand to see Brands and ask why he has wasted over £85 million on the likes of Gomes, Delph, Iwobi & Kean - thats the source of peoples real anger but its much easier to take it out on the ex LFC manager who has been here 5 minutes.
To be fair Gomes was good until his injury.

Yes because the similarities between the 2 are so obvious arent they - one a Goodison hero, widely revered as one of the greatest players ever to pull on the royal blue jersey.

While the other - welll lets just say hes not a good fit for the club shall we?
Yes but both were wanted out. Don't think you see any irony with the pic but hey ho

In all seriousness he has a job on his hands. It's looking VERY stale in the squad department. Our NEA squad are going to go turbo NEA with the lack of exciting additions. And the loss of James fergedaboudiiiit

There will certainly come a point this season when we go on a bad run but that's when calm heads must prevail - its easy to blame Benitez but he's not had the chance to rebuild this squad and we cant keep legging managers every 12-18 months and keep the same dossers.

The bloke is ultimately a Champions League, Europa League & La Liga winning manager - yes that was years ago but he still has a track record of being able to achieve when at the right club/circumstances.

We simply have to give him 2 seasons and see where we are from there and pray funds are there next summer to bolster the squad.

I'm pretty sure we have a manager who does not accept anything other than 100% effort. And I look forward to him hanging out to dry any of the wasters who think they can take the p***. They'd probably run over any other manager we appointed. He's the best man for the job.
