He was given A LOT of money to spend when they sold Wijnaldum and Sissoko for a combined £60m as a Championship club. No other Championship club had access to such resources, it was essentially a cheat code.

And you use this as the stick to beat him with. What should he have been doing with this dreadful side, winniing the world cup?
yes, they were a bit made up to win it I recall. They certainly weren't expecting it as a given.Actually they won it the next time they went in it in 2017/18, beating Arsenal in the final.

You cannot possibly make a valid case for getting Newcastle United promoted being an achievement. Fair play for having a go like, but you are floundering badly here.

The vast majority expect a dull season of midtable boredom. I think that's fair and a realistic prediction because we are highly unlikely to get into any trouble at the bottom, but are extremely unlikely to get into the battle for european places either. The squad is basically the same as last year's lot who were slap bang midtable so I don't know why anyone would expect anything other than midtable this year.
