He knew exactly what he was saying and meant every word of it. You can tell there is a weird pause and look when he spits it out from both him and the interviewer.

He may not have believed it in reality (probably did, no reason not to to be honest) but he was deffo stirring the pot.
He was 100% stirring the pot. Again, Everton fans would have celebrated and mentioned it whenever possible had the shoe been on the other foot.

You're SOOOOO BLUE.
Man gotta have a code.

“Don't talk like one of them. You're not! Even if you'd like to be. To them, you're just a freak, like me! They need you right now, but when they don't, they'll cast you out, like a leper! You see, their morals, their code, it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve"

I know its probably personal, but, Crimson is red.

Anyway, didnt wish to pile on anymore than others, forgive me.
Yeah, but it's hard to get all semblances of red out of one's life, no matter how hard we try.

No worries Goat.

I've spent too much time on message boards. It's taught me that sometimes it's better to not spend another second pursuing an argument. Just a waste of time.
You're not wrong. I've never been one to post much on message boards. Always just a lurker. And god I'm on here way too much. But lately I've been trying to participate more to make the time spent feel more worth it, and well, this was the result. It wasn't even my argument. I was originally just trying to support BigIguana when he was taking offense to something I felt too. Which I suppose you guys might say is another mistake to learn from, ha.

Feel like I should call the police commissioner to warn them about you.

This appointment has left me feeling empty and really disconnected from my club.

I'm totally fed up with an owner who is taking this club backwards, we've just had Carlo the rat use us a cash-cow until Real Madrid came knocking and now we're supposed to get behind a man who is realistically coming out of retirement to rinse us of £1 million a month, all with his best years way, way behind him!

Part of the spin to win us over was that Benitez 'lives locally' WTF! I'm simply not going to invest any more emotional energy into a club whose owner doesn't want his team to offer good attractive attacking football and will be perfectly happy with mid-table mediocrity until the new stadium is built.

Best case scenario is that he's gone before Christmas and worst is that it'll be another 12 months or more on top of that. He's not a miracle worker and he'll soon realise that the squad is pretty much woeful, full of lazy players happy to see out their contracts on mega-money.

I’ve been going to the old lady since 1969, seen good times and bad (plus Big Fat Sam!), but I’m done, I’ll watch from afar for a while.

The owners don't care how the fans feel. 'The peoples club.' Is it?

Every single bad performance and loss is going to be amplified by this person being here. It's not going to work.
Mate, to be fair, that was Moyes's moniker. The world has moved on. We are still 'the people's club' when compared to that lot across the park, but we are in a whole new world now as a club compared to then. We move on.

This place today has been a microcosm of how it really was for us. A few saying they'd not go to games until he was gone (and sticking to it). The majority of home and away ST holders still went but made their displeasure known. The minority (and it is, if we're honest) that will support him/the board/Everton no matter what get drowned out. That's the hardest part. No-one is right but everyone thinks they are. That's when the problems start inside the ground.

I actually felt sorry for him in the end, he was on an absolute hiding to nothing.
Yes it'll be the same here but while i know you and the RS had your difference borne out of their jealousy of your new money at the time, genuinely our anger at this sellout of self-respect and dignity goes to the core of most Liverpool families. My wife's family are almost exclusively Red where mine are almost exclusively Blue and we were the first of each in each other's families by marriage going back since 1878. All the RS in her family hate that he is managing us as much as we hate that he is. And for the record, they loved our discomfort when Allardyce was appointed.

Only a man with a certain ego and vanity can ignore that kind of sentiment. He's negotiated a 3 year deal which means our idiot owner will be paying off a sixth manager in 7 years shortly.

Forums are a sounding board for people. Barring really personal barbs there's no sense in taking offense, otherwise you'll just go mad.

Go back and listen to that interview. He clearly makes a distinction between the small clubs and Everton doing that on the day.

You just cant accept that.

By the way, up until about 10 minutes ago I was convinced he'd baldly stated we were a small club. Having heard and watched that video clip though I'm inclined to agree and accept his explanation about referring to the way we set up on the day.

Sure, so I don't think we need any of the indepth what he meant by the comments stuff. It certainly was not a language thing or anything like that.

I’ve been on the road all day out of WiFi range. 78 pages ffs, can someone sum up the general mood in a sentence or two. Any positives at all? Thanks in advance.
