I agree he has a lot to answer for but there can be more than one person responsible for bad results. Its not mutually exclusive. Brands doesn't pick the team, the subs, the formation, etc.
He is supposed to be the man with the plan. Scouting, identifying targets, signing players to fit a system implemented from top to bottom so players from yourh level upwards play the same way, developing as they grow into first team players ultimately removing the constant need for squad overhauls.

Allegedly

Yeah but what stratergy has he got, he dosent seem to be doing anything. Lets be honest, even those who back the manager know Rondon has been a disaster, and it was proberbly a Rafael call to get him in, but why cant Brands find someone, he dosent seem to be doing anything. Just look at the players we shifted in the summer, mostly expired contracts, so he wasnt even doing that

No idea if true or not, but happy to take you at your word. However does that not seem rather odd decision making? Like Napoli are in a lot better shape than we are. Why turn down such a good offer to come here?

Probably wanted to be at home with his family until the Pandemic situation is cleared. At a guess. The guy has spent 18 months away in China.

Yeah, I know. Not defending Brands, just pointing out the manager doesn't get a free pass because of his failures.

Because they're idiots quite frankly.

The same idiots who rallied behind Bill Kenwright yet moan about going 26 years without a trophy and 3 failed ground moves.

You reap what you sow and when you chase this manager out the door as you have done with the last half a dozen you'll be crying when Mark Hughes / Eddie Howe or some other bog standard manager on the cheap is in the dug out trying to navigate our FFP problems.
They are not necessarily the same people, you do realize this... right?

Or to you who is still banging on about Ancelloti sacking us off as an argument about why benitez is apparently so great.

Yeah because Carlo has set us back, not as much as Koeman did but he has left us in a worse place then he came into, and Rafael has to pick up the pieces. See Roberto had a great platform to build on via Moyes, a manager who leaves and has taken the club forward is what we need, Carlo didnt, its why Rafael has a free pass this season, he has to make his own platform.
Josh KIng should be our player right now, and Rondon never would of been looked at if so.

Hold on a second...how on earth did "Ancelotti set us back" ?

Thats a proper delusional take right there...especially when you see the current manager not only unable to coach a defence but be unable to replicate the previous manager, he who "set us back".

Really mate. I think you should read up in what went down. As I've said numerous times. He was offered a 2 year contract. If he was so bad, he wouldn't have been offered one. He was already lining players up for the summer.

He was homesick. De Laurentis even offered to buy Rafas family a home in the heart of Rome and find a top English speaking school for his kids and a promise of a big spend that summer. Rafael turned it down. He was then offered a rolling 1 year deal, in which he could leave at any point at the end of a season, he was adamant he wanted to return to England. In which he did.

De Laurentis and Rafael are on very very good terms to this day, so much so that he has approached Rafael on 3 seperate occasions to come back, twice in the last year.

Thanks for confirming De Laurentis to be an absolute nut job.

We know that anyway though.

+ Benitez homesick in Italy but not too long after moves to China.

No.

You post like you know the fella.

I’m going to test this now.

What team do his daughters support ?

And, this is not a trick question btw as my dad was chatting to them a few weeks ago.
He doesn't have any daughters. He's got four sons born to him by six different women. In Raffer we trust.

He's got another child on the way and he's carrying it this time.
