He has to be given 2 full seasons minimum which I suspect he will get given he's on a 2 yr deal with an option of a 3rd.

If he has us around the european spots / top 10 he'll likely get a 3rd season whereas if we finish bottom half twice he may well be let go and the board not renew his deal.

Anyone thinking he's going anytime soon when we are 9th is delusional.
9th will (in many ways) unfortunately be fine.

I think he he drops into the bottom half atbthe end of the season some serious questions will be asked. Likewise, if we fall towards the relegation places, the same will be true. That's the worry for him currently, that we spiral, and Watfords defeat takes more out of him/the team than we might initial think.

I should say, I dont want this to happen. Continuity helps football clubs. I cant really stand Benitez. He still comes across as arrogant to me. But I can also park my feelings and hope he does well for the club while here. I honestly dont like most of the players either, but again, I hope they do well.

Good post mate - I think he'll keep his job regardless this season but as you say a bottom half finish they'll be pressure on him next season should he be backed next summer financially.

Realistically Doucoure and DCL shouldn't be far off back after the international break so we need to get through the next two games in one piece.

A hard fought point away at Wolves tomorrow should Mina make it sets us up nicely for Spurs at home with hopefully Nuno lasting long enough to be still in the dug out there with their players looking lost.

Be typical Everton though if they sack him tomorrow and have his replacement in by Sunday lol

About time then. He ruined Man Utd, Real Sociedad and Sunderland along the way since leaving here.
In all honesty he got all Billy big nuts about the Manure position but, and it's just my take on it, Ferguson (Alex) and Utd didn't adequately plan a succession policy, so a very, or what seemed on the outside looking in, quick decision to go by Sir Alex left them in a bit of a strange position, of course Moyes didn't help by clearing out an established backroom.

Sociedad I can't comment on other than his poor attempt at Spanish!

Sunderland were and still are a mess.

His achievements at Everton, taking off the bitterness over his behaviour on leaving, were stable, settled, rather pragmatic but nonetheless relatively good but in the end not quite up to it in as far as bringing silverware.

You can't deny his time here was OK overall and his 2nd spell at the hammers is at the moment better than that.

Again, I'm not saying get him back or that he would even consider it.

Last time I checked Ancelotti had spent £70 million in the summer and had been in the job for over 18 months in which we were going backwards towards the end of his tenure to the point of being only able to try win games by 1-0 smash and grabs via set plays.

Benitez has been here 9 games, has spent £1.7 million and the performances largely have been better than last season when our first 11 is largely all fit and on the pitch.

You're embarassing yourself with the agenda against the manager.

Just pipe down and wait until the end of the season before acting as if the world is ending when we're 1 win off joint 5th.

No, I don't think I will pipe down at your command.
I'm not the one with the agenda. You're the one lying in almost every post and making up fictional people in an attempt to justify bogus complaints about the fanbase whenever someone criticises the manager.
Fans this, bhoo boys that, just constant lies. When pressed you can, at best, only ever quote one person as a reason to misrepresent the fans.
So who's got the agenda?

If we come bottom half the main pressure should be on Brands, in all the time he has been DOF we havent built anything that resembles a top 6 side, but we have spent the money, while other clubs get stronger spending less

I agree he has a lot to answer for but there can be more than one person responsible for bad results. Its not mutually exclusive. Brands doesn't pick the team, the subs, the formation, etc.
