Players and managers come and go, but they are only a passing phase, in the history of this club. The Everton football club will still be here, long after all of us are gone.

I think the Derby will be his last game

we won’t pick up any points before that and getting beaten by the RS will be the final nail in his fat coffin
Would’nt sacking him after a Derby defeat give the other half even more to celabrate, why would you give them anymore satisfaction... even United did’nt sack Olly after losing 5 -0 at home and that to them and there fans would if anything be harder to take because there fans expectation this season is much higher than here especially after signing Ronaldo.. Varane and Sancho.

The Zonal Marking is the only thing I can criticise him for at this point.

The 2/3 man midfield argument is redundant as Carlo largely played with a 442 and 2x in the middle. It wasn't an issue with Doucoure fit when we out played Brighton and Utd away from home.

Soon as Doucoure was out that was it for us - same as last season winning just 1 in 8 when he was injured.

Irreplaceable at present.
If that's the only thing you can criticise him for, you really do have an agenda.

We all knew what would happen when he went on a bad run. The board knew. They ploughed ahead with it anyway. That's on them. But he hasn't handled it well at all either. His subs have been awful, his game plan has been awful, his game management has been awful. He has thrown players under the bus. He has taken zero blame for any of his decisions. I don't care if carlo played with a 2, the issue is, we have all seen our midfield being run through repeatedly in the last few games and he hasn't put an extra man in there. It's about adapting to what's happening, and he hasn't been doing that.it wasn't an issue when we outplayed Brighton or United, but only having 2 games in 10 when we have actually controlled it and outplayed teams for the full 90 is abysmal.

We are worse defensively than we were yet he is a master tactician renowned for defense.

He should never have been appointed in the first place as it was obvious what would happen. There were and are other managers out there.

If being an Evertonian hadn’t been a part of my life for as long as i could remember, I genuinely wouldn’t watch any football.

Some games lids watch on telly that I’ve no interest in whatsoever.

Posted this the other day as well, and I could name you all the players in the league from the mid 80’s.
Now, and I’m not joking either, I couldn’t name you the Wolves side from last night.

Hold on a minute - his subs against Burnley changed the game and bringing Delph on yesterday made us a lot better.

But IM the one with an agenda Mr "I never wanted Benitez from the get go" how could I ever tell :coffee:

tap tap tap on his keyboard goes @ForeverBlue92 - spouting nonsense in a constant attempt to defend the waiter

yet on one topic he is strangely silent - should the waiter take us down, should he or should he not be fired?

Whats weird Kevin is you were calling for Silva and Ancelotti to both be sacked and you are doing the same with Benitez.

Why you arsed who's manager as you'll only be calling for their head within weeks regardless :hayee:

And I gave him credit yesterday for the delph change. But he waited way too long to do it, which is where his game management was poor.

I mean, against Burnley, we scored the equaliser before the first sub (gomes). And then townsend scored a blammo. His other two subs were after 80 mins when we were 3:1 up.

But Benitez said he watched the squad before he even signed for us so he would have surely then noted that whwn Doucoure is out we are absolutely crap with 2 in the middle. Ancelotti screwed up by doing it, surely Benitez would have noted that it doesn't work and pack that midfield with 3 and make us harder to walk through.

It's lazy management, not looking to find an alternative and he had the pleasure of being able to look back at the arse end of last season and see how utterly crap we were with a 2.

Its a myth that managers are pragmatic - 99% of them play their way and thats it.

Guardiola wouldn't come here and hoof it up to DCL just because our CM's cant pass a ball - its why managers get time and money to bring in THEIR players to play THEIR way of playing.

Benitez wont change for anyone, neither will Potter, Frank, Tuchel, Klopp or whomever else was manager.

He wasn't backed enough in the summer and its clear as day if he stays he needs a RB, commanding CB and a monster CM which Brands (lol) needs to get him.

For very good reasons - we'd have broken PL P&S rules and been liable to sanctions as the first club to have done so !

That's what Gretna fans used to say! They were then taken over by a wealthy owner....
