I would really love to say Brentford sandwiched in between City and Liverpool but sorry lad I can’t.

Put it this way your decorations will be up in the house ?
Even though I hate the deccies up early types , given who we play I’m more than happy to face the ire of those close to me not to mention my neighbours and to put my tree up on the 30th November , if you can guarantee it’ll get us three points .

We could have gotten Conte if it wasn't for ffp messing things up. Why did we just waste money on a shower of rubbish? I'm so pissed off with this club.

Who's asked him to go out and spend money?

He's picked players who are bang out of form continuesly, despite having other options on the bench ( very limited options at the moment ) BUT options.

Rondon played 90 minutes about 6 games in a row and genuinely didn't do anything, not a single thing in those games that was even remotely decent l.

Iwobi is a mess of a footballer, am absolute myth, yet when fit he seemingly always starts over Gordon who to me has actually been one of our only decent performers of the last month or so.

Micheal Keane started the season with about 8 mistakes and still kept playing the next game.

Coleman should be banished out of the club.

Again the options to replace these out of form players arent great and in some cases are very raw/equally bad. But when someone plays rancid for a number of games he shouldn't play again for a few games regardless of how bad the options are.

But kudos for you effort.

All good points there.

In response to the post you replied to, I really wonder why posters using the excuse "he only spent £1.7mil" could provide reasons for:

1: Benitez not selling players to generate funds-- aside from the now classic "no one wants them" tosh.

2: Why the addition of 5 players equates to £1.7mil as opposed to 5 wages, signing on fees, agent fees on the books...including Lonergan and Rondon which appear to be a waste.

3: Benitez moving Kean on loan for Rondon

4: Not extending contracts of players to free up a transfer budget.

All in addition to your solid points about the dreadful team selections.

Also of course the destruction of our defensive systems.

The bloke was keen to remove James and destroy our defence...why didnt he use the transfer window to generate funds.

Madness.

Same talk happens at every club. Manager loses a few games, then the fans say they should be looking at Potter, Dyche, Howe, any other British manager. I bet if you go back 5 to 10 years it would have been should be looking at Allardyce, Bruce, Pardew, Hughes. Etc

The problem is certain managers are suited to certain clubs. Howe built a legacy at Bournemouth over several years. Dyche did the same at Burnley, Potter at Brighton. Would they come here and hit the ground running, possibly, possibly not. They only look so good because they've been given time to develop their squads and build a system. Which is what Rafael should be allowed to do here. Look at Moyes, built a legacy here, went to Man Utd, wasn't allowed time and faltered.
Unfortunately, benitez record would show him not staying at clubs long enough for that to happen. With 12 of his clubs being 3 years or less.

How many of those clubs was his choice to move on.

Discarding his early career.

Valencia 3 years
Liverpool 6 years
Inter sacked
Chelsea interim
Napoli 2 years
Real sacked
Newcastle 3 and a bit years, would still be there now if the takeover happened sooner
Dalian 18 months.

As long as nothing bad happens, I can see him staying a long time.

@davek and @ForeverBlue92 and all you other Benitez fans

Let's hear your predictions for this run of fixtures under our Super Manager.

Spurs
Brentford
City
RS
Arsenal
Palace
Chelsea
Leicester

I am saying 2 points. Obviously that should see him sacked if it happens.
Without Mina and Doucoure = 6
With Mina and Doucoure = 10-12

I said it a week or so ago: we WILL be bottom half for a spell. How could we not be with the lack of firepower and other key personnel being out?

The squad is a shambles. We cant get results other than by having all out best players out on the pitch.

Conte would never come here, look at the last few managers we had, thats the type of managers we attract.
Ancelotti was a one off, and his stock at the time was nowhere near as high as Conte.

Why discard his earlier career? Is that not still part of his career? All you have done is prove my point. He doesn't stay around other than at 1 club he has been at.

You must have some damn good glasses if you can see him staying around a long time. Bad things are already happening.

Did I? I don't recall exactly when I decided I didn't think he was right for the position.

I'm sure you can have a good snuffle in the vaults and find that out, I certainly won't bother.

I can guarantee I will have only wanted him gone for footballing reasons though, not a childish preoccupation of whom he previously managed.
Have you logged into the wrong account, mate?

I wonder if Benitez has ever signed and/or developed a truly top class centre back?

He signed Koulibaly for Napoli of course but didnt develop him and dropped him towards the end of the season.

Certainly signed some absolute shockers over the years which doesnt bode well for him improving the defensive shambles hes brought to the club.
