When we were winning games loads were telling us that because we had added Gray and Townsend and both were playing well the squad was stronger than last season, as soon as we went go on an abysmal run the squad isn't stronger.

The way everybody goes on like this is still the same crap squad we had under Koeman and Allardyce is mental.

We've spent another 200 or so million on players since then, some of which our fans actually rate like Godfrey, Digne, Mina, Allan, Doucoure, Gray, and Townsend. That's 7 different players in the first 11 from those days.

Yes Carlo was given 70+ M and Got 10th , yes Benítez only spend 1.8M ... BUT .. didnt Benítez inheerit said players ?

If players are a assets , then Benítez Got a stronger team than the one Carlo started with ..

The "he only spend x " would only hold if the previous coach signins were NOT usable by Benítez , wich was not true .. he Got a "stronger" team than Carlo And added a Few more .

You could not spend a Penny and still have a greater value team than another club xpending 100 millions . In other words Carlo ended with x + 70M and Benítez is currently x+70m+1.8 ..

We have a decent first eleven...after that zero and that is the problem. We have a good team, we have an awful squad aftet all that spending.

Benitez has to build a squad, injuries destroy us.

Not sure what people expect when we have our best defender best midfielder and only striker out injured. Squad is paper thin and as much as I don't like him I don't really think there's much he can do.

We expect him to try and come up with a system that makes us harder to beat. Injuries are an understandable reason for our form but not the way he sets up. Not totally blaming him as yes the squad is very thin which is an issue with recruitment that goes back year's and I don't think he should be sacked but he has to at least go e us a chance while our better players are out. That includes going 433.

What's weird is Everton fans worshiped Carlo who was a disgraceful Everton manger, but won stuff for other clubs, and they ignored what he did (or rather didn't) for us but loved him becuase he won stuff elsewhere.
Likewise Rafael has a top CV but becuase a joke of a Newcastle got relegated while he was there they focus on that, it's weird.

Almost like they have agendas .......

Next they'll be including player wages as part of the transfer budget ........ oh, hold on ....... sorry, they've already done that. lol
