3 defeats on the spin. Probably 4 after tonight.

Then games against City, Brentford away, Liverpool and Arsenal. Genuinely think it will be 8 straight defeats.

Why does this happen to us so often? Do you ever see even Spurs or West Ham go on disgusting streaks like that literally every year, with at least two or three humiliating whallopings per season thrown in too?

Benitez couldn't rally the players after the Watford humbling, I've no doubt that he won't be able to even get them to scrape a draw here.

Yes I know no other manager could do much better with this gang of utter wasters, but you've got to start pointing the finger at him when he's continously playing the likes of Iwobi, when he allowed our promising left back to go out on loan, when he won't drop Keane, when he persisted with Rondon when Richarlison was fit. If we get smashed tonight, and I think we might well do, I want him gone.

yes 8 straight defeats is beyond the pale. I didn't mind losing the derby but I cant believe we didn't pick up a point at Brentford after they went down to 8 men.

1. He has little to no alternative to Iwobi other than Gordon who for all the hype hasn't reigstered a goal or assist for us in the Prem iirc.

2. Nkounkou for all we know wanted to go out - the fact we have no replacement is down to the DOF

3. If you drop Keane you have an even worse CB in Holgate on the pitch - do we really want that comedy CB pairing of Holgate + Godfrey after QPR away???

4. Richarlison since returning from injury missed half a game whilst Rondon played - he might not have been 100% fit for 90 minutes and regardless that team was good enough to be beating Watford at home.

A lot of what people throw at the guy as "mistakes" he actually has little other option.

The only thing thats worthy criticism is the set piece record.

You are a good poster and it's hard to disagree with you. I guess I'm just scraping for excuses. I'm frustrated and it hurts to be subjected to this season in, season out.

your proof that I am a closet Kopite is that I am supporting the manager of Everton. Right, ok. Carry on.
Bellamy was one of the most exciting players in the league for about 8 years. Almost unplayable at times. He was top notch.

Don't forget all the weird Bellamy stuff.

I hope many of the posters are correct and he is better than I believe he is and he manages to get some passion and a performance out of them today. Its likely considered an "Expected loss" by the board, but he has to at least get the players motivated and showing some desire which has been sorely lacking. That's the minimum he should be doing in his job role as a manager.

Win lose or draw today, just want some fight.

But thats the crux mate Benitez has been here 10 games we've been crap for 6-7 seasons now.

At some point we have to start questioning the way the clubs run, DOF & players ability/mentality instead of just heckling the manager.

Merson crying out again for Newcastle to forget Eddie Howe and go for Benitez, now not a particular can of Benitez, but for crying out loud what has Merson got against Everton ? He actually seems to despise us or hold a deep seated grudge, looks like he's dying for a chance of destabilising us, weird little man.
He's trying to do us a favour!

Tick tock, tick tock

If our boys don't put a performance in today

Benitez, your days are numbered I reckon

Hope I'm wrong, the manager needs time, at least 2 more windows., but football is cruel at times.

Good luck Benitez and team today
