The Rome wasn’t built in a day comment is all fine and dandy but we are conceding soft goals every week from set pieces and when we collapse we collapse in style. Your job is to fix these problems not create them and learning how to defend a set piece and keep a compact and tight shape are the basics that shouldn’t take time to implement. Playing a good style of football might take time and I will give him the patience to achieve that but shipping 4 goals to Watford in 20 mins at home is simply embarrassing.

Amidst all this boring exchange of extreme opposite views on the manager, one really stands out as far as I can recollect from some time ago, if only to make sure it is not forgotten. By chance it happened to be anti Rafael, but it deserves a prize of its own as an expression of complete idiocy. I can't be bothered trying to find who the perpetrator was. It went something on the lines of, no matter how successful Rafael may become at Everton he would never accept him as Everton manager. Who needs supporters like that?

Everyone has called him up on this though. The majority of fans will call him out when appropriate but not when the injury list is so bad,. Your waffle about the injuries.... he has sacked the head physio, mate, ergo...he proactively deal with it, where many managers have not done for the last ten years.

You need to look from a different angle at why you are so against him and not the stuff he cannot avoid.
Thanks for a reasoned response.

They haven't all called him on it though. Some have il agree but far from everyone. There were many who absolved him after Watford. Was he blameless? Not all his fault but he wasnt blameless. Not in my opinion anyway.

I know why I'm against him. And it's the same reasons from the summer. Fair play to him for sacking the head physio. Hopefully it changes our fortunes but thats 1 part of the jigsaw about training, which he has been in charge of for 6 months now.

It's interesting though how defensive people get by "inane rambles" or "delusion" etc. If that's the case why do so many respond. (Not aimed at you but it's other posters terminology). Even if i had a total dislike of him with no reason, that's fine, it's my choice and it doesn't hurt or actually affect anyone here or affect the club in any way. I like reasoned debate and I may never comprehend other peoples views and vice versa but actual reasoned debate is much better.

But that's their choice. And if his appointment causes supporters to feel like that, then clearly there is an issue with the appointment. Can't think of many managers that would have the potential to make supporters feel like that bar 2 or 3 and he is one of them. But we all knew what it would be like before he was announced.

The injuries have destroyed the season.

We need to get to safety, then hand the manager some recycled player cash to buy who he needs.

There can be no judgement made on Benitez when half the preferred starting XI are out for most of the season so far....and it's unreasonable to think there can be.

On thing's for certain: he defo wont be being judged by the board - their incompetency has made matters worse than they need have been.

Lardiola implemented this in about 2 games.

None of you can honestly say he is getting the most out of the players available to him now. Even @ForeverBlue92 won't say that because he knows Benitez isn't getting enough out of the squad he can pick from.

There is no reason we should have lost 5-2 at home to Watford.

He's a crap manager, doing a crap job.

But we have players injured who aren't even that good anyway btw

Well said Dave. Add to that what can we move on in January and replace them with what.
