Stuck this in the time for change thread last night when my spleen was venting - seems right to stick it in here as well.

That was literally what was said though. That we couldn't afford anyone else. Saying we couldn't afford anyone else due to ffp is just not true when we are paying him 7m a year as well as a signing fee.

I then gave the example of gaultier. Granted he may not have come to us, but as a manager who just beat psg to the title, his combined cost to buy out and his first year salary is less than benitez is costing when benitez was unemployed.

We don't need premier league experience. Moyes didn't have any and he has been better than all the managers that followed who did.
Not disagreeing in what you are saying , i wasn't a big fan of RB appointment i was just replying regarding compensation , didnt Gaultier say he wanted to stay in France?

His 12th league game Brentford away lose that, & I feel he get sacked ....
Definitely wishful thinking. The club has well and truly backed itself into a corner and found itself in a totally untenable position. Any sort of change will have a massive financial as well as emotional effect on us. I'm not saying we'd be within our rights to want a change but I'm like most in that there's no suitable alternative.
We're up the proverbial creek and no paddle.

He did unfortunately, but that's just one example of the many coaches in Europe who would have been more affordable and isn't past it.

I think I will be bookmarking this for around the Christmas holidays

He's not going anywhere, so get over it.

He has the full backing of the board. Everyone knows what the situation is like for the club at the moment, apart from a select few fans in here who wanted him gone before he even signed the contract.

Go have a general look around the other EFC forums then, yes people understand about the injuries but there are a hell of a lot of people starting to get very twitchy feet. He needs a win against Bentford by any means possible.

He was finished in the top flight years ago
He just hit the jackpot that our crackpot owner was sold a pipe dream
Man’s a charlatan, has been since day one. A man who blames everyone else, antiquated football based on stuff that worked years ago
He took us to city and had his team put in a display that looked like we should admire City and let them win. It was utterly embarrassing

Anyone who makes excuses for that display is not an Evertonian
lol lol lol

so did Ancelotti, im sure Silva was planning ahead too - they're both gone - obviously for different reasons

football moves fast and if this guy keeps losing he will be gone

Say the board sack him, pay millions in compensation. Then what. Who do we realistically get halfway through the season, no money to spend, an injury crisis and mid-table... Nuno at best, most likely Steve Bruce or Sam Allardyce. What's the point.

If he only takes, I dunno, 3 points or whatever between now and Newcastle on the 30th then he's dead in the water. I think he'll probably survive until Christmas but he absolutely has to be picking up points against Brentford, Palace, Burnley and Newcastle, at least 7.

A lot depends on just how adrift the bottom three are, but if we're on 20 points after 20 played then he can't survive that IMO.

If he can survive, if you look at the fixture list for January/February then there's a chance to box off survival over those months, but he needs better luck with injuries and it's absolutely imperative that we bring 1-2 in early January.

Unfortunately, Brands doesn't work January, the useless mammary gland.
