Worlds apart from Ancelotti and “just play”

….I think it’s too early to say. We still look very vulnerable against set pieces. Moyes got the team so well structured we didn’t conceded for two seasons. I know it’s a bit negative but I want to see that defensive organisation especially knowing better players will make us better.

Encouraging, though, that we train with ‘structure’.

The difference between Jagielka and Keane.

Useless video as the sound disappears into the ether after about 20 seconds. Benitez looks like he's got the dt's, or perhaps he's shaking in remembrance of Grange Calveley, the creator of Roobarb and Custard, who has just died.

We still look vunerable but still not conceding too many chances whereas we are creating more chances. Less possession amd more chances is still good

Benitez is desperate to do well at Everton. He wants to do the job he loves (coaching in the Premier League) while living where he and his family love (Merseyside) for as long as possible. The Geordies loved him for staying when relegated, getting back into PL as winners of the Championship, and most importantly coaching a team that tried their best despite some obvious limitations and little financial support. Based on this season’s start, the signs are encouraging for the Toffees but there is a long long way to go. Glad that we have a manager who is as desperate for improvement/success as us fans. COYB!!!!

THIS 100%

We've tried up and coming managers, star name managers, spent loads, and got nowhere. RB might just be what we've needed in a very long time. Deffo warming to him.

He is the first manager we’ve recently had that seems to comprehend that flair and pace are important in the modern game. Good enough for me. Hopefully the Diaz deal comes off

Im struggling not to like the guy

He says the right things. Can you imagine Martinez after a performance like that? Phenomenal would have been rolled out three hundred times and then the players would think they've made it and not try thereafter.

Bout time we had someone push this group, whether we play well or not. The last game is done and we need to improve for the next one.

Hang on Mate ,I said I hope he’s a success and we win every game . I didn’t want him , Im delighted he’s winning , I mean delighted, and I enjoyed that today .

….spot on, I’m with you.

I think @Forever Blue is totally caught up in glibness after 3 games. Lots of us didn’t want Benitez, we still think it’s the wrong appointment but it doesn’t for one moment suggest we ever wanted or expected him to fail.

We are Evertonians first and foremost, long may our form continue.
