Atm I think its impossible to convince people like you. Me, I rather hope he will be continuing the very promising start thus far and not just results. In a way I dont care where we end just as long as we long like a fighting spirited team, wich, even with the current squad, is a fact.

Looking at the long term I wonder what will be possible. Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City are deff in the top 3. Then its man u, spurs who look good again. Thats a top 5 sorted. Then comes our competition being West Ham, Leicester and who knows, Leeds and or Arsenal if they get a new manager. Those are the games that will be interesting for me to see if we can get into european cup. Its then we can start to think about buying better players again.

What are you trying to convince me of?

That a club who has 1 won domestic league, in highly dubious circumstances in 30 years+ are not comparable to Real Madrid in terms of domestic success?

Longer term, theres absolutely no chance United are not at least comparable with Liverpool. When Klopp goes they fall down quite quickly. We should be looking to get ahead of them and into the top 4. That's the goal for Benitez to show hes done a decent job here.

City and Chelsea will be miles away from the rest.

Saw a tweet thread from "Tactically Everton" today. Don't know if that's anyone on here, or their brother, or some jerk, etc. so I don't know if this is someone everyone here loves or hates but it jibed with a lot of what people were saying here during/after the game.

Here's one in particular:

Must admit I’m very impressed with the way we’re going out to win games. Actually trying to score all the time as well as being defensively organised.
Be interesting to see if we setup the same against the better sides.

Ironic that our current manager failed then isn’t it?

At Madrid, maybe, but won the Spanish league and the uefa Cup with unfancied Valencia, the champions league and runners -up with the RS, uper Cup and fifa World club championship with Inter, Italian Cup with Napoli, Europa league with Chelsea....

Again, what makes Zidane 'elite' compared to that?

Alright, let's get down to brass tax. How many inches do we think he is down there?

Don't bs me by telling me I'm the only one who's been increasingly thinking about this.
