Neither are his first choice if he has other options. It’s an absolutely bizarre criticism when we have multiple injuries and there are barely any options available to the manager.

Injuries do matter, nobody has suggested otherwise, stop being an idiot.
But you mitigate against injuries by having a good system, a good shape. We haven't had that and you can have that without your best players. It's basic, basic stuff.
So, Benitez cracked on it today. He needs to keep it.
Gomes isn't amazing, he regularly stinks out games when he starts, for example. So you can switch between him and Allan in a more advanced midfield three role, you can rotate Gbamin and Delph. Are they amazing? No, not at all, but you need to use what you have.
I don't want to see 4-4-1-1 next week because we've shown today, and in the spurts through the season that it's been played, that 4-3-3 works and gets the best out of our better players.

You have to enjoy the win, as it's lifted a massive weight. Don't get wound up by him in charge or posters saying he's great as it's not about him, this about us. We still have a boat load of problems but we were never as bad as people made out either, we just had very bad luck with our injured players. We'll cruise to upper mid table but be well off from beating the best or competing for trophies.
Let Benitez build a squad with these relative cheap buys that actually have a bit of fight and when he's gone another manager will have a better chance of success.
