Yeah sound, but we still have a squad that should finish easily in the top half.

Its widely accepted that Carlo failed getting 10th, but then everybody is like "The squad is bad, poor Rafael can only finish mid-table", if hes a good manager he exceeds expectations, my expectation is a European league place.

I think it’s got to be Europe really. Otherwise he has done no better than the rest of them.

We haven't qualified for Europe in 5 seasons and only twice in the last 8 years yet you expect top 6/7 in the managers first season with a £1.5m spend on players? lol

Why not ? Carlo missing europe was a failure, Benítez Got the same team + a Few players so he must aim for the same goals.. europe . Anithing less Will be a failure , just as it was for Carlo .

Carlo failing to improve us was a failure.

It's been three games but we're improved thus far. If in May we can say we are honestly better at playing football than we were in May of 2021 then it will have been a good season. We need to stop this Europe or bust attitude.

my point is that is what fans do -surely .
Nothing to do with the rest of the post as I think putting any timeframe on any manager is daft ,I am not supporting him it is just things like the behaviour of the players ,injuries et al all have a bearing and render the time irrelevent or nonsensical .
If we would have given Howard a time to prove himself like that we would have far far less history of winning cups etc.

You are mistaken... You are comparing end season Carlos everton vs early Benítez .. i remember a better football ANd more points this far into the previous season. (Correct way to compare done processes vs those under construction)

So far Benítez has improved nothing ... NOTHING. Time Will tell if he improves or not . Don't jump so quick into the raphamovil.

The key is to constantly get into frigging europe , playing better or Worse , it doesnt matter. Get in there , eventually everton Will have enough money /recognition to lure the better players and naturally start to play better..

Nope i won't buy that crap .. numbers , cold numbers , so far he is behind. Lets see in a Few months. Heck he can win a cup, get into europe and Even finish 12th.. thats improvement.. don't we need money ? Europa gives it . Do que want to atract the Díaz of the world ? Europa puts You on the map...
