Our injuries and scouting have been woeful for time and called out on here constantly. RB has got rid of/ they quit, the people responsible for those things. You would imagine, though cannot be certain, they will be replaced by better candidates
Could be worse as well if benitez just has full control and signs who he wants. Him and moshiri are dangerous together in my view. I'm not impressed with much of his past history of signing players, especially the times on a limited budget either.

How's it giving us a better chance? There's no way of knowing that.

Essentially he could have us finishing mid table, but with all his own people and own players such as rondon, who think like him and follow all his instruction, and then he leaves, a new manager comes in and we are back to square one but with a load more but slightly different dross on the books like longstaff.

Benitwz isn't a long term appointment and is going to help us in that sense. Unless our next manager plays similar style of football which so far hasn't been great.

Surely we can't still be after Longstaff? He can't even get into the Newcastle team atm.

Bit shocked that of all the managers we've had since Moshiri has been in charge, it's Benitez who he's given the keys to kingdom. Madness.

I agree, he has bought some duffers, some worldies too though.
Either way, the scouts who just left have done very little of note, so hoping change will be beneficial

I pray we aren't but like I say, theon is pushing it. And benitez whispers sweet nothings in his ear every night.
Longstaff will more than likely be our new central midfielder.

Wasn’t Gerrard partially responsible for that too? I seem to recall an interview during an internal tournament where Barry said Gerrard had been bigging him up to Benitez and was pushing to get Liverpool to sign him.

Don't think at Alonso's expense.

Another big reason was that Barry could play left back too

It can’t get worse than 500 mill whizzed up the wall and your best players injured all the time. How does it get worse than that? People have been calling for changes to recruitment and medical teams for ages. Now they’re happening.

I genuinely think Brands expected to have people out the door by then and money in (James for instance) and it never happened. Inter came in with actual money and the rest is history
Yeah though think there's too much smoke without there being fire for the Benitez thing too.

It's fine, is what it is, just there was a very decent RB target lined up but it didn't work out. Such is life.

We have been strongly linked since he came. His best mate theon keeps banging on about him. I said it as an expected signing but just replace him with rondon if you want instead.
So it's not true? Cheers for that! Thank goodness I didn't travel in time. Wouldn't want to miss Christmas.

So many players linked and this is the only one you think is definitely happening. I'll take one Rondon if it comes with Gray and probably Townsend. No managers get every transfer right. Especially when you're gambling in the bargain basement. There are cheap and bad buys as well as expensive flops.

Luckily Gray is turning out well. Imagine if he wasted all his budget of 1.7m on a transfer. How dare he.

Lovely condescending tone just because you disagree with someone.

I've never said it's the only one I think is happening. It was an example given based off a poster who acts as if he's in the know and who, like yourself, backs benitez to the hilt. So you would take 1 rondon for every gray? So he could sign 10 players, but half of them are absolute trash on big wages? Fantastic. That's certainly getting rid of the dross. As has already been shared, his record at newcastle, when on a budget (even though he spent 157m in his time there) really isn't good.

Not getting into the gray signing again, I think that was a mix of him and brands and he has had a decent start, same as Leicester and at leverkusen. Townsend I can take it or leave it, some allright games, some crap games so far.

Of course there is a risk in getting rid that it could get worse but I can only see that happening if medical guy who left is replaced by Shipman and scouts are replaced by Stevie Wonder. Both teams have failed spectacularly and haven't set a very high bar
