Just can't see it working now. By all means sack him, but the timing sort of concerns me.
We are 3 weeks away from the window opening. We can't afford to go through the window without reinforcements. If we sack him now, we've just sacked our DoF and recruitment team - there are no people at the club capable of recruiting players as things stand other than Benitez, which is a sobering thought.
My concern is that we will sack him (and there's every reason to currently) but we don't have enough time to sack him and get a new team of people in to plug the gap in our recruitment. So we could conceivably end up sacking him and then sleepwalking towards relegation anyway because we'd have nobody at the club capable of identifying and signing the players we need.
But the alternative is keeping Benitez, letting him sign some players and seeing out the season.
I'm genuinely not sure which is the worse option as things stand.
