His input as chairman and someone that supposedly actually knows a bit about football and the culture of this club shouldn’t count then? Weird position that.
Firstly, it sounds a lot like you don’t know what a chairman’s role actually is.

And I didn’t say it shouldn’t count. I said it wasn’t his decision to make. Because it wasn’t.

Havent you heard, its all on the gutless squad even though the same players did better last season.
They did but at the end it was getting a bit like this, wise old Ancelotti saw it coming and shipped out. Moshiri would have had to break the FFP rules to have kept him even if the Real job hadn’t come up. Face it we are broken been like that for a fair while, the problems run deeper than the manager, but our current manager isn’t helping the situation one bit.

Just can't see it working now. By all means sack him, but the timing sort of concerns me.

We are 3 weeks away from the window opening. We can't afford to go through the window without reinforcements. If we sack him now, we've just sacked our DoF and recruitment team - there are no people at the club capable of recruiting players as things stand other than Benitez, which is a sobering thought.

My concern is that we will sack him (and there's every reason to currently) but we don't have enough time to sack him and get a new team of people in to plug the gap in our recruitment. So we could conceivably end up sacking him and then sleepwalking towards relegation anyway because we'd have nobody at the club capable of identifying and signing the players we need.

But the alternative is keeping Benitez, letting him sign some players and seeing out the season.

I'm genuinely not sure which is the worse option as things stand.

We are in an incredibly worrying position
Then again there are some on here that think the squad is fine and we will finish mid table under Benitez. So do we actually need new players? If the oracles are correct about the squad we just change the manager to someone reasonably competent and we avoid relegation no bother ;)

Why? His wages would have already been included and worked out for the length of his contract.

It's not like we are spending peanuts on benitez. He gets 8m a year and will have had a several million pound signing fee.

I would love to know what the chairman has on the day to day running of Everton it is just a title he really has no power all the power is with moshiri yes kenwright can give moshiri advice

Nobody can tell me the team we have is this bad. I know we're shocking but I simply will not accept that we're this bad. Especially when our manager is just outright refusing to play people like Digne and has already forced out someone like Rodriguez. Get the kopite out now ffs.
He didn’t force Rodriguez out. James was leaving regardless of what manager walked through the door. I genuinely believe Moshiri went all inn on Carlo getting us into Europe, and when that failed we were financially unable to carry with our massive wage bill.

The January window wont make a blind bit of difference. We cannot buy much due to ffp which means we will be mainly looking to loan players who by all accounts are cast offs who cannot get a game in their own club because they are not good enough and so the clubs are looking for a sucker i mean club to take them off their hands for a while and help pay their wages. Not good enough for them but good enough for Everton. We have enough problems with the blurts we have already got.

Willingly dropping more points and hoping things improve in January is a pipe dream and completely insane.

Act now and stop making the problem worse ffs.
