It was a suicidal appointment in the first place though mate.

You only have to look at the appointment of George Graham at Spurs, to see that appointing Benitez was doomed to failure.

Graham won a cup in his first season with Spurs and their fans still wanted him gone.

People did want him out from day one, I`m one of them. I`m not ashamed to admit, that I have the same level of dislike for him, as I have for Allardyce.

They are two sides of the same coin, the difference being, is that Allardyce doesn`t try to hide the fact that he`s a very limited manager, as you get exactly what it says on the tin with him - dour, negative football, that keeps a team in the division.

It was said from day one, that the only way Benitez was getting some of the fans ( me ) on board, was by showing a bit of grace and humility and carrying on where Ancelloti left off.

Instead, he`s showing that he`s incapable of change, as both on and off the pitch he`s reverted to type.

Moshiri has possibly made the biggest mistake of his whole tenure by appointing him and needs to rectify this quickly, before we end up in a position that we can`t get out of.

He`s scapegoating players, falling out with them, scapegoating staff and now calling out the fans.

Do you honestly think this is going to end well ?

It just never works mate, it`s as simple as that.
Even if we went on a little run of form and shot up the table, as soon as we lose a game it'll get nasty again. When you don't have great players (which we don't) you at least need some sort of connection between the squad, the manager and the fans - a togetherness that we're all in this together, it's us against the world. We'll never have that whilst he's here and he'll always be one loss away from a crisis. Not removing him now is just delaying the inevitable... and that's coming from someone who was willing to give him a chance at the start of the season.
Let's get it straight, sacking him and getting another manager isn't going to make the team better, it's not! We may get a new manager bounce but ultimately this team has shown time and time again they aren't good enough, they have no fight, no pride - they just about go through the motions. Binning Benitez solves very little on the pitch but off it, it can at least get the fans back on side and create some much needed unity.

I will out myself as a hater from the start. To me he was never an Everton manager, he is arrogant, he fights with players, fans, owners and it is never his own fault. It think he adds zero value added to the squad. We never liked Allardyce nor Koeman due to their arrogance and lack of any humility. So we get spades more of the same.

In hindsight both Koeman and Silva should have been given more time based on the fact both were let down by Walsh/Brands respectively.

Losing Lukaku and not replacing him killed Koeman

Losing Gana/Zouma and not replacing either killed Silva

Who knows had Benitez been given £70-100 million this summer to bolster the side maybe he wouldn't be on such a poor run?

We'll never know...

Have a look at his Newcastle signings. They are the exact type he’ll be signing. Come back to me with the ones you would want at Everton.

The table must be a reassurance to Moshiri.

Dave mate, am not sure if you're on full on wind up mode, or you genuinely believe that Benitez is not tactically inept like he is showing. I tend not to reply as it ends up down a slippery slope, but you cannot be happy with anything going on at the moment.

The league table is not a reassurance to anyone, if you think we are going any other direction then further down the table under Benitez mate then am not sure your agenda anymore.

Tactics, subs, set up, everything about this whole situation is wrong, not about injuries no more, this is about a manager who can't get 10% extra out of players and makes even worse decisions in a game then I ever thought possible.

Spot on.
Does anyone honestly think that in 6 months time we will all be singing his name and lauding him .
He's going to be sacked. Why delay the process.

For context, the absolute worst spell in my living memory as a blue was the first part of the 94/95 season under Mike Walker.

It felt like we were the worst team in the division by a distance.

We had 8 points from 14 games that season when he got the boot.

If we lose our next two games against Chelsea and Leicester (and let's be honest, it's entirely plausible), we will be on a run of 8 points from 14 games - we are literally approaching Mike Walker territory

The one difference here is that we had that good run of form v early on this season, which is the only thing keeping the wolves from the door currently. If we lose the next two games and Moshiri still keeps faith in him, not only would it be out of character for him to afford someone so much patience, it would be out of character for almost anyone.

Bottom line is a lot of people never even gave him a chance because of who he previously managed.

I believe in giving someone a fair opportunity and thought as a club the fanbase did too.

I've been sadly disappointed to find this isn't the case and if it has done nothing else it has opened my eyes to the actual moral standards people hold. I certainly won't hold up Evertonians as some example of great support in the future, i support Everton but a bond has certainly been broke with me in respect of if not the fanbase at least the majority of supporters on here.

That's not the fault of Benitez, it's about fairness and giving someone a chance. This his face doesn't fit and name calling has all the characteristics of bullying that has scarred so many lives that i find it abhorrent and sad that so many find such happiness in it.
Hi Rafael, u ok hun?

Don’t follow your logic. The owner’s previous ad hoc appointments are why we’re in this mess. Rafael’s appointment is the latest in a line of ad hoc appointments but this time it’s okay because Rafael has convinced him he has a long term plan?

45% of our goals? Do you mean Gray and Townsend who have played by far the most minutes in attacking areas of the pitch for us this season? He’s not added 45% to the goals that we’re already in the team, now that I would be excited about. We barely score or look like scoring, Townsend isn’t good enough to get in a bottom half of the league Palace team.

It’s going to end disastrously because it’s been so badly thought out, the next manager will want to come in with a big broom and we start all over again. Stop trying to defend it.
Ideally, of course, it is not ok. I completely disagree with the way EFC has been governed. Benitez was also not optimal employment, far from it, and I'm not thrilled with his football philosophy either. But having said that, once we have put ourselves in this situation, we must at least give Benitez time, as long as we do not have a clearly better alternative. And no, Lampard is not a better option, or the same type of managers. In that case, we will only repeat the circle.

Although I was neither over-enthusiastic about hiring Benitez and do not share his football philosophy, Benitez is without a doubt a manager who possesses a lot of knowledge and experience. Seems a bit petty to discredit Benitez for this, as some do. He also has relevant experience, and is used to working with players who are not necessarily world-class. At the same time, he is a manager who is not afraid of confrontations.

Still, he needs results like other managers, and he can not continue in the same trend. But I fear more what a possible firing of Benitez will lead to, than what will happen if we give Benitez more time. I believe that Benitez can, at least for a transitional period, be a manager who gives the club stability, at the same time as unpopular decisions are made.

No idea where this idea of personal loyalty to benitez on the part of Moshiri comes from.

He has picked every manager since Martinez and sacked them all, including publically backing Koeman and Silva before sacking them weeks later. He will wield the axe after leiscester.
