The point is people wanted him out before his first game and are now using onfield results to excuse their hatred.

The point was perfectly clear. I can't be bothered to engage with people on this issue, their minds were made up a long time ago, I just think its pathetic.

It was a suicidal appointment in the first place though mate.

You only have to look at the appointment of George Graham at Spurs, to see that appointing Benitez was doomed to failure.

Graham won a cup in his first season with Spurs and their fans still wanted him gone.

People did want him out from day one, I`m one of them. I`m not ashamed to admit, that I have the same level of dislike for him, as I have for Allardyce.

They are two sides of the same coin, the difference being, is that Allardyce doesn`t try to hide the fact that he`s a very limited manager, as you get exactly what it says on the tin with him - dour, negative football, that keeps a team in the division.

It was said from day one, that the only way Benitez was getting some of the fans ( me ) on board, was by showing a bit of grace and humility and carrying on where Ancelloti left off.

Instead, he`s showing that he`s incapable of change, as both on and off the pitch he`s reverted to type.

Moshiri has possibly made the biggest mistake of his whole tenure by appointing him and needs to rectify this quickly, before we end up in a position that we can`t get out of.

He`s scapegoating players, falling out with them, scapegoating staff and now calling out the fans.

Do you honestly think this is going to end well ?

I didn't want him appointed as manager.
When he was, I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt, and after the first few games he did well.
Its the total loss of form and lack of fight in the side since then that I base my judgement on. We've gone backwards fast, and its worrying for the club.
Am I a Benitez hater... no, but something has to change quickly. You cant complain about the fans wanting him out when we are sitting back game after game and dropping down the league like we are.

Now then, back to the pig-man….

When’s his next presser?

*the main hall echoes to the Adulation of the Multitudes, while from the grating emerges the unmistakable sound of thumb screws being tightened*

He is currently being pressed into a very small bowl, while alive. It is taking some time, but that's the Inquisition for you

*Hallelujah, Amen, Praise Be*

In hindsight both Koeman and Silva should have been given more time based on the fact both were let down by Walsh/Brands respectively.

Losing Lukaku and not replacing him killed Koeman

Losing Gana/Zouma and not replacing either killed Silva

Who knows had Benitez been given £70-100 million this summer to bolster the side maybe he wouldn't be on such a poor run?

We'll never know...
Zouma and Ghana were huge losses. We had an opportunity to get a foothold in the league and we blew it. The more I think about it the more I feel foolish and duped by the Carlo factor. That was never going to work, just like I think this fella won’t work because they are here for today not tomorrow. We need someone who invest time in youth, in forward thinking football. I don’t see that with Ancellotti or Benitez. I watched a younger less experienced but more watchable Palace team beat us deservedly yesterday. We will probably finish above them this season but I would rather watch a team serve up football like them, than watch is serve up Delph, Coleman and Rondon every week. Surely we can put a few young players in there mixed with some of our more talented players and give it a bloody go. Are they that far from the premier league that we have to play these past players. We will still lose a fair few games but Christ it could be worse than what we seen before Delph went off. I seen a team yesterday waiting to go behind, rather than getting on the front foot.

Perfect

Ah come on mate, don't be like that. We can all have disagreements.

Fellas, let's just play nice ey. Whatever happens on here shouldn't resort to good people leaving the forum alright.
This! I’m a new fan so I am not sure if the same hostility among the fan base has happened before with other managers. Last year under Ancelotti didn’t seem like posters were so antagonistic towards each other. So it is unfortunate that many posters have gotten banned or have left GOT because of the position for or against the manager. After all, we are all Evetonians and our love for the team is what brings up this strong passion from all sides but it would be much better it we all could be more kind to each other with our comments.
