Bottom line is a lot of people never even gave him a chance because of who he previously managed.

I believe in giving someone a fair opportunity and thought as a club the fanbase did too.

I've been sadly disappointed to find this isn't the case and if it has done nothing else it has opened my eyes to the actual moral standards people hold. I certainly won't hold up Evertonians as some example of great support in the future, i support Everton but a bond has certainly been broke with me in respect of if not the fanbase at least the majority of supporters on here.

That's not the fault of Benitez, it's about fairness and giving someone a chance. This his face doesn't fit and name calling has all the characteristics of bullying that has scarred so many lives that i find it abhorrent and sad that so many find such happiness in it.
Due to the garbage that has been served up in the last 6 or so years, I was more than happy to give Benitez a chance as I didn’t think it could be any worse than years before.
Yesterday broke me. He’s currently managing our worst ever run in 40 years or so.
What I witnessed yesterday was not a football team, never mind an Everton team. If he cannot coach and motivate players then he has to go. Couple that with disaster relegation form and we have a perfect storm of an incompetent manager.

You’re right that ‘some’ people didn’t want him here before a ball was kicked. That is not unique with a divisive character like this fella. Ask chelsea fans.
Ask RS fans about hodgson
Ask utd fans about moyes.

I had enough yesterday, and it’s performances and results alone that has made my decision that I want him out.

There are not a lot of things our past 5 managers have in common except they should be/were judged successful at the job based on:
1) results
2) quality of performance (entertainment)
3) recruitment
4) Motivation of the players

I really don't care what they look like, where they came from, their style of play or what they say, its just down to the above. Thinking about Martinez, Koeman, Carlo, Allardyce, Silva, (Ferguson & Unsworth not included as too small a sample) they have all had issues with at least 2 of the above and been sacked (Carlo excepted).

Benitez is currently struggling with all 4. I'll admit he was financially constrained in the summer but if he continues to piss-off players as we freefall down the league then January will be a tougher window than it usually is.

It would appear he has lost the support of the fans, the players, the media and the remaining board - only the owner remains and I am not sure he has the self assuredness to be in a party of one for very long.

The writing is on the wall but pragmatically it will drag out for a couple more games as it always does.
