There are not a lot of things our past 5 managers have in common except they should be/were judged successful at the job based on:
1) results
2) quality of performance (entertainment)
3) recruitment
4) Motivation of the players
I really don't care what they look like, where they came from, their style of play or what they say, its just down to the above. Thinking about Martinez, Koeman, Carlo, Allardyce, Silva, (Ferguson & Unsworth not included as too small a sample) they have all had issues with at least 2 of the above and been sacked (Carlo excepted).
Benitez is currently struggling with all 4. I'll admit he was financially constrained in the summer but if he continues to piss-off players as we freefall down the league then January will be a tougher window than it usually is.
It would appear he has lost the support of the fans, the players, the media and the remaining board - only the owner remains and I am not sure he has the self assuredness to be in a party of one for very long.
The writing is on the wall but pragmatically it will drag out for a couple more games as it always does.
