I think that the act of him dropping one of the teams better players, Digne, who has been underperforming for a long time, is not necessarily a sign of arrogance or him asserting his dominance, as many managers use precisely this tactic.
It’s is when you try to ostracise one of the best and most respected players in the squad, it’s not like he’s dropped him to the bench, he’s dropped him out of the squad, an extremely poor and thin on the ground squad. He’s arrogant and cannot handle criticism

Digne will come back in to the team and it will be interesting to see how he performs. If he plays well at Chelsea, then maybe the tactic worked and it will lift others in the team too.
He might play better, sure, but he'll never be the attacking fullback that is his game under this manager. Under RB he's a smaller Carragher at full back, so I doubt this conflict will improve anything. Digne will still hate playing for him and using his dinosaur tactics

Maybe you are right, in terms of those ideals, but obviously Rafael not the man for it.
Lets take Palace as an example, young manager, fresh ideas, leader and great former player with good interpersonal skills
overhaul the squad and exciting to watch by comparison to Palce that were 'solid' 'hard to beat' and 'fought'
The new Palace will finish higher and fans will have more fun watching it.
Should we get Lampard(young manager, fresh ideas, leader and great former player with good interpersonal skills) and
stop renewing contracts for players simply existing, then we could do something similar
Gotta be better than this misery surely
Yes you're right it annoys me when people say this squad couldn't play good football if we asked them to because if the likes of Palace and Brighton can do it with the players they have then theres no way we couldn't. If you can play good football with Shane Duffy and Dan Burn you can play it with Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne. Thats where coaching and management comes in but we insist on appointing Hollywood managers instead.

Digne will come back in to the team and it will be interesting to see how he performs. If he plays well at Chelsea, then maybe the tactic worked and it will lift others in the team too.
Digne now in a no win situation.

If he comes back in and plays well defensively Benitez takes the credit.

If he makes a mistake Benitez says look I was right all the time.

What's people's opinion on the difference between a manager and a coach? Talking to a lad earlier and he said Benitez is neither. Are Klopp and Guardiola managers with coaches who compliment them or are they mainly good man managers who are decent at coaching too? Modern footy terms confuse me. If you wore a suit or flasher mac on the touchline in the old days you were a manager and the fella next to you in the trackie was the coach / spongeman is my memory ?

It's gonna happen - lol
