Results wise, it can and has been.

Why do you think Benitez is the only man in the world capable of doing that? Especially given what the club looks like now under his leadership?

I’m not saying he’s the only man capable, but he is in post, and I believe he could do it, so why waste millions mode firing him, getting someone else in, and starting all over, when we could just let him get on with it.

Because thousands of the rest of us Evertonians don't believe he can do it.

He's blown through the good will of most willing to give him a chance by underperforming massively and there's nothing we're seeing from him that has convinced what is a growing majority of Evertonians that he is the best man for our long-term future.

It's an odd logic that you both share, you and @davek

Never want us to lose, ever. Even at the expense of them winning something.
No, I know what you mean, but right now all I care about is the Leicester game, mainly becuase we dont stand a chance at Chelsea, if we win tomorrow Rafael deserves a contract extension, it wont happen, if it does it's one of our greatest wins in the last decade.
Losing to Palace was awful, I was gutted, anyone who boots off tomorrow night on the manager if this current Everton lose to this current Chelsea is making a fool of themselves.

The football was worse under Koeman and Allardyce easily.
Allardyce, no question. Koeman, I would argue against you. Nothing, I've seen from Benitez is any better than his first season and his second season was a mess and completely divorced from what we saw when he got us to 7th. Either way, both got better results out of the squad than Benitez. He's got a worse record than either of them when you stack their first games in charge against his.

We can lose the game of course but I cant accept getting hammered. We need to at least be organised and show intent in possession. Its an important game just like every other league game.

We’ll finish mid table, and the squad will be better next year than it is this year. I’m convinced of this. Everything else is just noise. If this was any other manager we’d be behind him trying to oust Brands and root out the core problems at the club. Just let him get on with if. If the bad results continue then he’ll get fired so I don’t know what people are so worried about. That’s Moshiri’s MO, he’s done it countless times in the past. The squad is a mile away from European football so we’re not missing out this season by not having a different manager. So if we’re floating in the middle why not just let him get on with it? What have we got to lose literally, the club has been a shambles for years.

Koeman was the lowest of the low, without excuse
The first season was very Ancellotti. Ugly but somewhat effective and we hoped there was maybe something being put together but it never turned up. The second season it all went down the pan with ham-fisting 3 number 10s into the team.

Allardyce had us go more than once with no shots on target if I remember. Benitez' football is just as bad. Conceding the ball from kick off and hoping for some luck. Allardyce prayed for a long ball or a set piece to come off, Benitez has us try and counter with a bit of pace but it all starts from the same defensive dinosaur footy tactics.

They’re crap players. Doesn’t matter if they’re happy as Larry or they’re at war with the manager, it’s irrelevant. This side playing at their best is a bottom half outfit, at their worst it’s a bottom half outfit. They just need to be punted. Why keep them all happy? Hopefully most of them are getting told they’ve got not future at the club.
Are you suggesting the first team are not good enough or the squad?

This is part of the problem - ‘entitled’

People showing up at the ground, thinking because they’ve paid to get in that their responsibility ends there - a sense of entitlement then that the team owes them something and they have no part to play themselves

There just seems to be very little thought put into what’s brought a situation about - and very quick to introduce negativity if results are poor

Much of what Benitez is saying in his press conferences is logic based but some ‘fans’ aren’t thinking that way

Do you expect a hammering in your job if going through a difficult patch or do you appreciate some positive teamwork through tough times?
What are you going on about? I expect desire and will from the players and a plan from the manager, that's it. If that's entitled so be it. We flog ourselves at work to earn in a year what these players and managers earn in a few days, so yeah, when I hand over my cash, that has taken me hours or days to earn, the least I expect is that. They do owe us that. That isn't entitlement, that is some pride in doing your job.

You draw a parallel in my job, fine, if I don't meet basic expectations in my job, for a while I would get support and training, if that makes no difference to my performance I get set targets and, eventually, if I don't meet those targets I have to explain why I'm not meeting them and eventually, if I continue, to underperform, I am dismissed. That is the very definition of the industrial complex that governs all of our lives. If I underperformed for 6 months my bosses would want to know why and my customers may take their business elsewhere. You and I are unlikely to take our business elsewhere, where would we go? Tranmere? The idea that support of a failing system should be unconditional defies logic and you should be ashamed of yourself for suggesting otherwise. Everton is not my child, they are an institution that I choose to give my time and my money to but I cannot countenance doing that and being denied my opportunity to be unhappy when they do not meet minimum, minimum, expectations.
