They did something that so many of our "senior pros" refuse to: play for the shirt - with the very same manager. The senior pros are being exposed with every passing week...
Playing for the shirt or playing for the manager? Different things. The manager is not the shirt, he is not the club. If anything playing for the shirt is more playing for the fans than the manager.

The way I see it, he was brought in to keep a mismatched squad with little quality and next to no funds to add to it in the league whilst the stadium is built and FFP problems are overcome. The absolute best that can be achieved with this squad is a comfortable mid-table finish, with injuries making that slightly harder to achieved.

I think we will probably achieve 10th-14th, which will be job done.

The fact that the team is playing for him and putting a fighting shift in shows us that he has the support of the players at the moment and is able to get something out of them. Let’s hope we can go on a better run when we start getting some first team players back.

And now this coward is saying something after months of silence.

I only use Twitter to give people crap it seems. Straight in to that absolute Mediterranean toad.

The senior pros have been found out. Without so many of them tonight, we saw a youthful collective play for each other and for their manager. Add the evidence that many of these same senior pros have seen off multiple managers and it is becoming crystal clear where the problem lies. The Raxative will soon reach the cancerous colon of the established dressing room hierarchy. The clear out is imminent.
I understand the clear out is needed, but how far is Benitez going to go. Rumours of digne, Pickford, DCL, Mina, richy. That’s not the clear out that’s needed. And do I trust Benitez to respend wisely. No simply put.

I disagree - I think in there is the core of a good side, he (or whoever his replacement is) just needs to identify the way in which they play best and manage them properly. He's not done that so much so far.

A young team managed by Rafael Benitez played their hearts out for Everton Football Club tonight away from home against the European Champions. Viva La Rafalucion!

Welcome to the Benitez masterclass in the papers tomorrow lads.

It'll have zero mentions of having 6 defenders playing and most of the under 23 squad. It'll just be how much of a tactical genius he is.
Pro benitez crew "but carlo was crap because he played 4 centre backs" benitez plays 4 centre backs and a right back "god"
