Everton Game Week 17 current + last seven seasons:

2021/22 - 19 pts GD -8

2020/21 - 29 pts GD +6
2019/20 - 18 pts GD -9
2018/19 - 24 pts GD +2
2017/18 - 22 pts GD -8
2016/17 - 23 pts GD 0
2015/16 - 23 pts GD 7
2014/15 - 21 pts GD 0

Ancelloti's great start last season is the only stand out season there. Had the arse not fell out of the lads against Watford this season we'd be sitting on 22 pts with a GD of -4 which is in and around where we've been the last 7 seasons.
I think, if you are trying to make a point in defence of Benitez, the least said about the Watford debacle the better.

I am sorry for my son in law who holds a ST at Leeds. The owners may take matters in the direction of sacking Bielsa. They cannot afford to go down after the last few years success.
Does he think bamford can help them turn it around? Kind of feel they are in the same situation as us, bad injuries to key players. That’s a couple of real bad defeats in a row. Think they are in more trouble than we are.

Still people pushing the manager as the answer when we’re bottom half. Then saying injuries etc, like no other team is suffering the same, then saying the window will be key, like no other team has the chance to improve also.
He’s a poor manager, lucky to get a fan inspired win v Arsenal, and then doing what he should of done all season and play the youngsters, to scrape a draw v Chelsea.
He’s out of date and needs binning, but still some want the RS in charge

On the Arsenal point:

Tomyasu White Gabriel Tierney

Partey Saka Smith Rowe

All get into our team.

I think the only players Arsenal would realistically take from us are DCL and Richarlison to replace Aubemayang and Lacazette who both seem to have fallen from their peak now, possibly Docuoure in the middle but they don’t really play that style of football with Odegaard and Smith Rowe instead. They have a load of strength in depth as well with Xhaka Pepe Martinelli etc. all better than our fringe players.

Their squad is miles better than ours at the moment.

Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney, Saka, Smith-Rowe and Martinelli are the players who stand out for me.

5 of them get into our team.

While they need to spend money on attackers, we need to recycle the centre of defence and midfield along with the right hand side.

I think if Benitez can move Digne/Mina on this window it probably creates alot of room in FFP due to their book values.

Digne £6-7mil
Mina 8.4mil

So, well both for £45mil and we have £29.6mil to spend...

...take off Mykoleko's £4mil and we'd have £25mil to really add some quality u23s.

I am not a Benitez fan but if he actually gets the team to put in good performances and makes us hard to beat and plays with a shape and gets results, I will support him and the team because from the looks of it he isn't going anywhere this season at least so constantly hammering on about him being sacked won't help. I will point out when he makes mistakes and when his tactics and substitutions are negative as they have been numerous times this season. But also credit him when gets it right like the other night and we were doing pretty well at the start of the season when we had everyone fit. Given the chaos of the squad and behind the scenes and what he has to sort out and let's face it we need stability whoever the manager is. I will let him have this season if he can keep us safe/mid table, but I expect to see progress by next season or he will be under the microscope regards his job again.

No sensible fan wants a club to sack a manager who has only been in charge barely five months especialy when he has spent no money and has never been able to field his strongest team.
I don’t believe for one second if Ancelotti was in a similar position there would be anything like calls for the manager to be sacked and would go as far as to say they would turn on the suits above before the manager. The form or result record would’nt come into it as long as the club was not in relagation danger and no matter what the drama queens say this has not and won’t ever be in the equation because there are some really poor teams in the league.

Benitez has took a job no serious manager would touch with a barge pole despite what some deluded fans think and he should applauded not turned on.
Between Selhurst Park and the Ataturk which stadium gives you the warmest feeling?

Well this was the post you were responding to.
I don't think @Groucho is one of the 4 you refer to here and he was making a perfectly valid point about the mess the club is in (and has been for some time)
Hi Kev, @Groucho has posted almost exclusively in favour of Benitez since his appointment,. I can't put words in @Kev The Rat 's mouth, so I have no idea whether Mr Marx is one of the illustrious 4, but he's certainly a pro-Benitez poster. So whether his post was valid or not, pointing out that his starting position was pro-Benitez is entirely reasonable.

Burnley A
Newcastle H
Brighton H
* Cup* Hull A
Norwich A
Villa H
Newcastle A

Next 6 league games + 1 cup game

18pts on offer and we really should be taking 14pts+ and a cup win.

That puts us on P 23 Pts 34

He then would require another 25pts from 15games to equal Ancelotti.
