Marcel Brands, Gretar Steinsson, Dan Purdy, Dan Donachie, Lucas Digne....5
Games won.... 5
Can someone explain to me how Benitez has earned the right to tear this club and structure apart?
He being treated like Ferguson at Utd, who, ya know, did earn that right
It must be a spell mate, the adulation this fool gets for nothing is insane. All our eggs in the basket of an old bluffer.

It's worrying, i gotta say
We've been infiltrated by Kopites and their admirers- who've convinced themselves and repeat themselves repeatedly because he was great for them hes going to be great for us and offer every excuse for his failings even though hes been irrelevant for years and was mothballed when we hired him. "Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth”,

Was Ferguson not on the verge of being sacked before it all started working out?

He had. He started tearing it up the minute he walked through the door. He started with the coaching staff and scouting system I believe.
No he added scouts with a focus on getting more youth in, not the same. Besides, even at that stage Ferguson's track record was pretty impressive and was on the rise. Benitez has been on the decline for a long time and has not had successful revamps that I'm aware of to point to
Can you explain why Benitez is getting the power he has now? Do you think this ends well?

I mean to me the changes he's making seem to be aimed towards a similar goal, let's see what staff he gets in before jumping the gun. I don't know tbh regarding Benitez and the power etc maybe he's shown a long term plan to the board that they believe in. I don't know tbh.

I will admit the lack of possession in how we set up worries me and its why I believe we're conceding so much atm as our defenders aren't good enough. The system does look a lot better with Mina though I'll admit. But for me Benitez should adapt and think "OK these guys aren't good enough to absorb the pressure for counter attacking football so I'll play a mixed style where we try to retain possession more and concede less".

But I don't think that's enough to sack him either, for years we've been crying out for a direct style /system and I do believe Benitez will deliver that and what we're going through now are growing pains that have been made worse by injuries and crap squad depth.

Edit: But I could be wrong and this all ends in tears. I don't know.

A few years...but lets remember he had achieved incredible relative success with St. Mirren and Aberdeen, was sought after by Arsenal and Spurs, on the up. Not in footballing obscurity doing a bad job in China. What has Benitez done to deserve this level of control?
Shouldn't a manager whoever he is, of a top football club have control over who his coaching, recruiting and playing staff are ? For too long at this club there have been too many fingers in too many pies without any success whatsoever and now we're trying something different , going back to when our manager had full control and you're moaning.
I didn't want Benitez here but I did want a new broom to sweep the deadwood out and that's what he's doing, will it be successful I? don't know but neither do you but at least I'm giving it a chance.

I gave it a chance... 5 wins, 5 people out the door, terrible football

This is the part that worries me...he's notoriously stubborn. I suppose end of the season is the best time to accurately judge, but have been getting less confident by the week
