I think we need somebody to come in and burn the place to the ground - because so much needs to be thrown on a bonfire. However, to do such an unpopular and precarious thing, you need an element of goodwill - or at least to start with a clean slate and fire-resistant PPE - because the flames will soon lap around even the arsonist. Senor Benitez is, to be kind, not exactly fireproof. Moshiri may yet dig in on this and go all in on the incumbent out of despair or stubbornness, but his history shows he will pull the trigger when the heat gets a little too toasty. I don't think anybody could really argue if he chooses to do that once more. The curse of Everton, though, is the players - the deadwood - will not have been incinerated as they truly deserve to be, and the next man will be on a similar hiding to nothing with no great hope of avoiding the all-consuming flames in another nine months. Does anybody truly believe that Moshiri would find "the right man" to set this derelict club ablaze? I don't - but the least he could do is find somebody to set that fire who isn't composed of ultra-flammable chlorine trifluoride.
The harsh truth is Moshiri needs to go.
