Fat clown has to go. He's destroying us week by week. It's something like 5 points from the last 33, surely there's someone out there capable of more than that with the squad we have, admittedly as poor as they are. Horrible day, horrible performance. If he gets another week we'll be out of the cup and all we'll have to look forward to is five months to scrape the 15 odd points I reckon we'd need to stay up. We are lucky we picked up those 10 points in the first 5 games as we're easily as bad as the current bottom three and it's only their continuing failure which is keeping our heads above water.

The on/off sacking of Benitez.

He's been "on the verge" of being sacked for the last 3 months and he's still here and about to spend more cash on more players.

What's that saying? Change the things you can change and acdept those things we cant?

That fits the bill here.

Settle down for the season and then we can address the situation then.
Your treachery will be complete when he has sold any talent we have and replaced them with a team of no marks who help us out of the premier league. As said previously, Dave, you have crossed a line with this one. ?

No guarentee of that. Theres a bigger picture with potter anyway. I watched them at chelsea during the week. Brighton and Everton both managed to get a point at stamford bridge. But thats where the similarity ends. The contrast in the performances and the attitude of both teams are chalk and cheese. We had i think 19% possession and 4 shots. Brighton had 53% possession and 14 shots.
The whole thing about potter is his potential on a bigger stage.
Something by the way i never saw in marco silva. Im not sure where he comes into it.
The Silva example is one borne out of years of the mismanagement of the club.
I'll leave you to wallow in the stats. All I'm saying is that we have an unerring knack of getting it wrong.
I'm on record by the way for my admiration of the guy.

What are we building here? What has Benitez promised Moshiri is the ultimate aim because I only see regression there is very little to hold onto that we will progress in any way
I honestly can't see anything better than pre Benitez, and I don't think we will either...he may have improved his own position a bit by removing credible doubters though

He's just there I presume, if he isn't being sacked, he is in just to keep us in the league to take us to BM. Big problem because if you standstill and we will with his negative tactics then you go backwards in this league. The players must be frustrated too as much as much as they are cowards they are capable of playing better than this dross.

You support Rangers don't you? On that basis alone please stop with this. We went there in pre season and got hammered. They've possibly one of the top 5 strongest squads in world football. We had injuries all over the shop. We deserved a victory. That's progress.

Let's not forget we've had one of the roughest summers in years before that, that the new manager had very little time to bed in, we've had noise distractions from police investigations, the new stadium politics, finally getting rid of James R...

When looked at in a certain light, we should be in a total shambles. One could argue we still are, off the pitch at least. Credit where credit's due when the results on the pitch are the best they've been for 17 years.

The team have a sense of purpose and direction add in the unity and fight it’s refreshing to see IMO

Except it didn't stick because it was obviously nonsense.

If someone calls a big club a small club then it would either be ignored or instantly dismissed and forgotten because it wouldn't occur to them as a possibility.

The only thing small club about us is the fans who possibly due to their own insecurities refuse to let the grudge drop.

Love and care for the club by rejecting someone who has the potential to stabilise and improve club performance because he hurt your feelings a couple of decades ago.

I love how we don't fear teams parking g the bus anymore. We will give you the ball and let you have it if necessary and until you have to eventually pass up the pitch then we blitz you.

Love how from game one Benitez has been able to get these to do it and do it well. Really sets them up with believe from the off. And dare I say it its making me a bit more confident we may finish higher than last season. Not that we have a god given right to.

Ok grandad

What have you lot got to say for yourselves now?:D

Results-wise right now? No. The start made in shaking this rotten club to its foundations? Yes.

As far as Ilm concerned, that is Benitez's historical task: to take a blow torch to the vested interests.

I hope he get the time to do it by settling his own players in quickly to stop the poor results.

Although I agree that removing much of the problem at the club is a good thing, it can't be at a cost to the team itself.

I said it in the match thread but if Burnley , Newcastle , Watford had amassed 5 more points between our Norwich game and now, the situation would be so much dire. We would be far more closer to the bottom 3 than we are now.

That is 5 points in what, 3 months of fixtures? A win and a couple of defeats turned into a draw for them , nothing to do with us or our results.

The ONLY reason why you are calmer about this , why the board are calmer about this , is simply because there are 4 teams worse than us. Norwich no question would be bottom no matter what. Newcastle can go and sign players to earn them more points now. Watford were a half decent manager away from being able to pick up 5 more points. Burnely are going down now so can't really factor them too much.

But 5 points , the same way 5 points has us in a more comfortable position if we had earned them, those 5 points below us puts us right in the relegation scrap, losing to the likes of Brighton , Watford , wolves and others.

We were missing one first choice player today and lost, 2 given the new lad couldn't play. In terms of differences, there isn't many anymore given richys replacement scored both our goals.

This is a relegation team that should be well clear and comfortable mid table for these new players to come in and kick on. Except they arent, something is holding them back from gaining 5 points more than those below them.
