I don't like him I don't want to defend him but we can't just keep sacking managers. Surely any manager deserves a couple of transfer Windows with the squad they've inherited. Definitely not a popular opinion.
I agree with the sentiment but when things are going this badly wrong with this particular man In Charge its difficult to see any other option . I mean should we have stood by Mike walker as we drifted towards relegation ?

Loyalty is a wonderful ideal but it doesn’t mean you have to stay loyal to Everyone whatever damage it causes you .

I think our defence ships goals primarily because of Michael Keane and Seamus Coleman.

Think I would include Holgate there.
Im on the fence still mate - he's underperforming at the moment but I dont think we'll attract anyone any better mid season with our current financial situation.

I said months back whilst BMD is being built expect 2 seasons of scraping around mid table until the decks are cleared financially & the new ground is built giving us a welcome financial boost with the USM naming rights deal in addition etc.

Replacing Benitez tomorrow with Lampard or Hughes who we'll be sacking 18 months down the line themselves makes little sense to me.

We are not at mid table. We are in the bottom quarter.

Moshiri only appoints PL experienced managers and we wont be in a position to buy out a current working managers contract imo nor attract them when we have little money and no DOF at the club.

Its easy to say sack sack sack but the reality is the options available mid season who Moshiri will chase will be out of work bums like them pair, Pulis, Alladyce, Nuno etc.
Honestly I'd not even be mad at appointing Lampard. I'm not sure it would work but his league performance and Tuchel's league performance with Chelsea aren't a million miles apart. Give him time to build a squad and work through problems and he might not be bad.

I'd do that before any of the names you've offered otherwise.

But in reality no damage has been done yet. Some think it will get worse and we'll be relegated others think it will get better with the addition of new players. Reality is probably somewhere in the middle.

What if this was the plan the board bought into? As in getting worse whilst he restructures the playing side from top to bottom. We don't know what any plan could be. We only see what's on the pitch which to be honest isn't very good but if there is a plan then I will reserve judgement for now.

I suppose it feels risky if you’re gambling on the clubs premier league survival be that as a fan or someone with hundreds of millions invested but yeah nothing lost so far as its January . Let’s see where we are come may

When it’s this bad we can, it’s shows absolutely no signs of improvement so you can’t let him drag us down into a relegation fight just because we don’t want to sack another manager.

I'd say March may be the tipping point if it's gotten much worse.
