Tactically inept when we beat Brioghton down there, Arsenal at Goodison and held the European Champions at Stamford Bridge.
I'm not one for ifs buts and maybes but Brighton away is the only game he has got it right. We got hammered by chelsea by parking the bus and we nicked one, arsenal are no great shakes either, we should expect to beat them at home under their current guise.

Presenter turns to Jenas and says "Before kick off you and Alan knew Everton were in trouble"

Jenas "Everything Everton done today screamed they dont know what they are doing"

Presenter "Everton have had since the 16th December to prepare"

Alan Shearer "Got to look at the manager" & "Surprised that system lasted for as long as it did"

Loads more, well worth a listen, just backs up exactly what we are saying....

Absolutely spot on.... I referred to this earlier in the thread, especially the setting up of potter's midfield to which we had no answer
and Benitez never changed ours to cope with it.
Clueless

Agree completely, that brighton performance was excellent but that aside we’ve played well for about 45 mins all combined this season .

I’m recent results The arsenal game could easily have gone differently if they hadn’t missed an absolute sitter , fortunately they did . as for Chelsea they’ve also drawn with the mighty Burnley , brighton and wolves and it was hardly exhibition stuff from us however much I enjoyed the effort we showed .

If youre holding up the Chelsea & arsenal results and performances as reasons to show why this bloke is getting it right I think you’re setting yourself up for a fall.

And how quickly Potter sorted his tactics out when we tweaked ours. He is a good manager that Potter, he'll win stuff in his career and will manage a top side imo

Me back at his appointment...
Dont like or agree with this one. But he'll at least organise and make the team hard to beat i suppose...
Turn of the year.
32 goals conceded in 18 games. 8 at home v watford and brighton. Marco silva esq zonal defending(brighton players embarrassingsly queuing up to score their 2nd yest)
There is no plan or structure having benitez here. There never was. But even the steady ship theory is now looking sinking ship.
I dont know if its to late. And he's not the messiah. But potter was who this club should have got. Only city liverpool and chelsea have lost less this season. I think they're 5th best goals against in the table. Again only really the likes of city chelsea and liverpool.
People pick holes in him. He's at BRIGHTON.
Like said. Dont know if its to late now. But it was a huge backward step going for benitez when we could have gone for Potter.

This is one of the things that annoyed me most about yesterday, dave - every one of the youth players who came in and did so well were binned off afterwards.

If Branthwaite hadn't been ill, does anyone think he'd have started? Did anyone think Simms or Dobbin were ever going to get on instead of Rondon? The one player who did start (Kenny) was hooked despite Coleman being (again) worse in all facets of the game.
