Riddle me this....

If the players "throw" the first half it's because of the players.
If the players "rescue" the second half it's because of the the manager.

How does that work? (Seems this is gonna become my go-to line )

If he is so great at motivating the players at half time, why the heck can't he do the motivation before the game?
I haven't been able to see the games live for last few weeks, so can't really comment, those in the stadium could clarify possibly as to whether the players are just giving up on the grand strategies of "The-genius-that-sits-in-the-dugout-chuffed-at-himself" or is it something different?

Edit: I know, I said I am going to wait till the FA cup game before starting to vent at Benitez, but as I mentioned in a previous post, the control is slipping now.

Exactly this! We play well when losing, terrible when all is equal. Stats back this up but we don't need stats to verify it because it is so obvious and chasing a point/points is the MO it seems.
Maybe he's lowering expectations so that it looks better when we don't get relegated or whatever. Maybe the fact the Geordies love him for winning promotion sticks in his mind because other achievements seem well beyond a manager that hasn't evolved in years.
But lets not forget, these players got 59pts last season without Gray... we are 40pts off that now. He's restructuring the wrong things it seems to me

You have to love the massive shifting of the goalposts from the Benitez acolytes.

Instead of playing to their agendas, they need to objectively look at what has gone on with this manager and what he is doing on the pitch with this team.

Coleman can't even play at rb anymore, but he lashes him in at lb because he can't stand picking Digne, who had the temerity to question what the manager is doing?

The consistent selection of two in midfield when it's patently clear it doesn't work.

All the young kids who played well at Chelsea not getting a sniff but rondon is back to being his go to guy, after being an abject failure.

The shambolic set up in defence and on set pieces giving goals away left right and centre and the hoofball, negative, kitap1 crap that puts us on the back foot constantly meaning our team of shithouses have to react when they just don't have it in them.

It's all excuses for tapastits, and any blue shouldn't accept that, hand on heart.

We know they squad is crap but I'm not having that the manager couldn't and shouldn't be doing better, or that any other manager wouldnt have got more out of these players - Carlo the snake managed it?

And managed it with "zero coaching" apparently.
