I find it weird that, again, the older crowd who has seen success and titles won is throwing out "the sheer toxicity of many supporters" who, for many, have a high point with a CL qualifier against Villareal as the best thing they have ever seen in their Everton supporting lives. Here's an idea, maybe stop blaming other supporters and start looking at the root cause. Maybe the happy clapping for Blue Bill wasn't the best idea? Maybe sitting there and yelling at others for being upset at the way things have been for almost 3 decades isn't the best idea? Maybe, just MAYBE, TRY to put yourself in the shoes of those who have seen Everton go from 'plucky underdog' to an absolute irrelevance in the last decade? You lot had your Mersey Millionaires. We've had "Where's the Arteta money".

No, obviously, you lot who have seen Everton win things on a pretty constant basis are in the right. What am I POSSIBLY thinking.

I’m not one of Kenwright’s happy clappers. He’s a root of the problem in my opinion, and it’s not the guy who arrived 5 mins ago. But it’s right to describe the comments as toxic because (for example) I don’t see Kenwright being called a pig etc. What would you call it? It’s not exactly a thoughtful and well argued criticism of management decisions, it’s just dehumanising abuse. People need to get a grip.
I’ve seen Everton successful for a couple of years since I started watching them in the mid 70s. That’s it. But my comments are about learning from history. And pointing out that maybe the critics need to take a breath.

Gordon’s interview must be annoying. Going on about how humble Benitez is, how much he’s improved his game, how hard he’s working to improve all the players at the club, how close he is to the players.

Coming from one of our best players this season as well. How come he can get on board with the manager’s methods but others can’t or won’t?
I find it fascinating that you think the club putting player after player out on camera to say how great Benitez is and what a nice guy he is. It's like a defendant wheeling out a raft of character witnesses, it's pathetic. He should get on with his job and get praise when he does it well, the reason we are seeing these interviews is because he is not doing well, he's doing worse than Mike Walker in fact. You don't see Man City setting up interviews with Kyle Walker and Phil Foden to tell the world that Guardiola is like their dad and best friend.

I wouldn't call Kenwright a pig. There's no need for personal when there's PLENTY of business related issues he failed massively at.

And I don't honestly care if people get annoyed at the criticism towards Benitez. He's an awful appointment by a pretty clueless and meddling owner. People who try to conflate people calling for Benitez to be a parallel to Kendall or Ferguson. It's not even close to the same sport much less league.

Tony is gonna fume when he gets dropped instantly for Gray and Richarlison coming back in the team.

Gordon is obvioulsly "in on it" with Fat Benny. The Barmy Army will have him in their sights if he has a stinker soon.

BOBA don’t like Gordon because he’s the fly in the ointment of their pointless agenda. They’d love Iwobi to be playing so they could endlessly carp on about how Gordon/Dobbin/some 14 year old from the academy should be playing instead, and Benitez only picks experience.

Gordon disproves all of that. Benitez has given a young player a chance and he’s paying us back now. That doesn’t fit in with the endless negative tirades about how he’s a dinosaur that only buys ex Newcastle players, only ever plays old experienced players, and doesn’t give youth a chance.

Hey hey! I have to say I would've bet on @ForeverBlue92 to be chief sycophant but you would have been my second bet. Congratulations for being so predictable.

Yeah because me, @davek and @ForeverBlue92 agree on everything don’t we? Just take a look through the managerial threads of Martinez and Ancelotti to see how ridiculous your assertion is. Maybe question why you continuously struggle to accept the opinions of only a tiny minority of the forum just because they disagree with you. Are you that insecure about your opinion that you need total unanimity behind it and no dissenting voices? Disagreement is healthy. Embrace it.
