Yeah because me, @davek and @ForeverBlue92 agree on everything don’t we? Just take a look through the managerial threads of Martinez and Ancelotti to see how ridiculous your assertion is. Maybe question why you continuously struggle to accept the opinions of only a tiny minority of the forum just because they disagree with you. Are you that insecure about your opinion that you need total unanimity behind it and no dissenting voices? Disagreement is healthy. Embrace it.
I accept that you have a different opinion to me, it is you that's getting all stroppy. I enjoy our exchanges, they're very amusing.

BOBA don’t like Gordon because he’s the fly in the ointment of their pointless agenda. They’d love Iwobi to be playing so they could endlessly carp on about how Gordon/Dobbin/some 14 year old from the academy should be playing instead, and Benitez only picks experience.

Gordon disproves all of that. Benitez has given a young player a chance and he’s paying us back now. That doesn’t fit in with the endless negative tirades about how he’s a dinosaur that only buys ex Newcastle players, only ever plays old experienced players, and doesn’t give youth a chance.
Gordon got his chance because 3 wingers ahead of him are injured. You can stop pretending otherwise.

It’s concerning how many people I’ve seen today who actually want us to lose tomorrow to enhance his chances of being sacked.
I want him gone, don’t get me wrong, but wanting us knocked out of the cup is just not right for any of us.
Who has said that?

I want us to win but we are hopeless.

I saw plenty on Everton Twitter mate.
No one would have the balls to say it on here I’d suppose..
Although, as I’m sure you know, plenty would love us to be humiliated live on BBC1 tomorrow.

Yeah, that's not for me. Win or Lose I want him gone but I definitely want us to win. Tired of watching these results .

The thing I'm most looking forward to is hopefully getting a good look in on the new young full backs.

A lot of the "supporters" on here would have been screaming for Howard to get the chop.....modern fickle fans....I'm so glad I was watching football 60's - 80's with supporters who supported through good times and bad..

Don’t think that’s true.

I sat in Goodison with less than 13,000 other fans versus Cov in the early 80s, during Howard’s first spell.

And people had written “Kendall Out” on the walls outsude the park.

That’s the way it was back in those days….when the team was crap on the pitch the fans voted with their feet.

And a decade earlier they bombarded the pitch with cushions after a poor performance.

In a way, the season ticket inspired full house every week and the Sky money has disincentivised those who run the club.

The money is rolling in despite the atrocious football and even worse results.

And bad and all as things have been in recent seasons we are averaging more per game than we were during Howard’s glory years…and the ground held a lot more then.

I think the fans have been owt but fickle in recent sessons.

It has been practically all “thin” for nigh on thirty years yet still we sell out every week in spite of the worst football most of us have ever seen at Everton.

I remember we had this kind of nonsense in the run up to the 2016 F.A. Cup semi final versus United.

People actually posting they wanted us to lose in case we went on to win the Cup for fear of Bobby being given another season.

Sheer madness.

I want Benitez gone as badly as the next fellow….but I would give anything to see us lift the Cup at Wembley come May ?

Money being the focus is at the root of many of the problems today. Interestingly, it is also potentially the solution.

The NFL became nearly as uncompetitive as the Prem thirty to forty years ago. I remember seeing the payroll numbers published late in that run. The owner of the 49ers (a real estate developer who would later plead to a charge of paying off the governor of Louisiana and ultimately get pardoned by Trump) was spending $46 million annually on payroll, the Team Formerly Known as an Ethnic Slur was spending around $38 million, and everybody else was down in the twenties.

Quaint numbers today, yes? Not coincidentally, in the seasons from 1981-1991 the Niners won four of the eleven titles and the Football Team won three by spending everyone else into submission. This led to a salary cap and everything else that characterizes modern American sports.

Those owners didn't care about the money. Like the petrodollar owners today, they were spending money on trophies and ego.

Now, you have people trying to actually make money owning a sports team, which is just bizarre because the few tightfisted owners that used to attempt that were pariahs. That said, in football at present money is vital because you all limit spending as a function of revenue rather than simply putting a hard or soft spending cap in.

As long as people keep throwing good money after bad at and inside the turnstiles, and the TV money keeps rolling in, what we think really doesn't matter. If people collectively decide not to do that, the team's ability to remain competitive and keep cashing the TV contract check will be jeopardized, and ownership will have to start paying attention. Hiring Benitez, for better or for worse, was always a giant red flag that showed how out of touch with the fans the owner really is.

I thought you, fb92 and dave were the voices of the silent majority. Not in w minority.
