Then we keep an eye on the relegation and continue on.

I've said before: if we fall into those relegation places he goes.

Outside of that Im prepared to let it ride.

We could finish 4th from bottom like we did under Moyes and I wouldn't (as then) call for the manager's head. I'd see it as a season where we necessarily had to transform on and on off the field.

This bust up between players and management has been coming and it needs a blood letting and decisive win for the manager to get back to stablity.

The Leicester game is a total irrelevance until tomorrow is over. This is a bang average team with a manager posting a dire record. We are absolutely not good enough to look a game down the line.

Well no, but yes a bit.

People bang on all the time about the players being held to account, or not being.

But the person employed to do that is the manager and the manager's job is to set the players up, motivate them and improve them by coaching them.

Everton fans act like that none of those things are on the manager and that they're all on the players?

Not me.

Everybody only slightly giving the manager the benefit of the doubt is a kopi multi according to you... We're all @ForeverBlue92 ...
The zealousness of your gang to 'expose' them is something I find a bit off putting. This is a place of discussion.

You'd think you would have enough material to demand the manager being sacked without this witchhunt.
What witch hunt are you talking about?

Stop playing the victim ffs

It depends what the owner's standards are. Previous managers were sacked for this level of performance. Benitez is still in charge so presumably the owner's standards are now much lower and he has less ambition. If this is now the level of the owner's expectations then there is a huge gulf between him and the wider club.
I meant Dave's point where he said:

"At last what we've been calling for is happening: the utter cowards in that dressing room being held to account for their unprofessionalism, but because it's Benitez doing it the people who want him out have suddenly conveniently 'forgotten' that demand."

I don't think the Digne thing is really what we are holding against Benitez, we are just in the mindset where he can do no right.

It's difficult when it reaches this point sometimes because people are so angry that the blinkers come down. I've seen lots of people refuse to give Benitez any credit over the two full backs, for example, even though they're both the sort of profile we've all wanted.

I'm as disillusioned with what I'm seeing on the pitch from Benitez as the next man, but I think we've reached the point where he can do nothing right and given the fact that Moshiri doesn't want him gone, we'd all be better focusing on the stuff he really is to blame for rather than the more tenuous stuff

Ilm not even arsed about the cup this season. We have bigger priorities than that.

I'll be happy if we progress but Ild rather lose this and beat Norwich.
Sorry but you should always be arsed about the cup, winning breeds confidence even if it is against lower league opposition, which you would then hope to take into the league. If we got wiped out by Hull do you really think it would help us beat Norwich and if you say yes then i really can't take you seriously.

It was a very clever response from Reidy because even though he says he doesn't take Benitez comments as a dig at him, he certainly gave him a dig back. By saying that he wouldn't even put a player who wanted out on the bench, he is at the same time saying so why did you put a player who wants out on the bench in the last game, in other words it is you who is playing games and wants him out, not the other way around as Benitez is trying to spin it to become the victim.

I want us to win but I'd prefer to get 3 points at Norwich.

Mate.....

Like it or not, Benitez is his boss and he's being paid a fortune by Everton Football Club to go out onto the pitch and give it his all, regardless of how he's being deployed.

There's absolutely no way we should be backing a player who is quite obviously taking the piss here. Benitez has made it clear on several occasions that he's a good player and important one but he's refusing to be a team player. I have absolutely no time for that personally. Plus, he's stunk the place out for the best part of a year now, so it wouldn't surprise me if his attitude has also been called into question and he's become a big prima donna about it all.. all now leading to him effectively abandoning the club & fans that have supported him so well.

You know what? all of this vitriol is solely coming from the fact that many hate Benitez that much that they're siding with a clearly troublesome player over him, which is hysterical. How about we continue to just allow players to take the piss, ey? It's not like that's been an issue at Everton for ages now....... :coffee:
Again all of that is based off of taking what Benitez says at his word which I wont do because the man tells lies and has done this everywhere he's been.

The press conference was a humiliation for him

Put him out of his misery now.
It was actually rather concerning.
If he just made comment on Digne, no matter what your views on the situation then I could understand it.
The mentioning of Peter Reid a few times is just plain odd.
Especially when you consider a player from the same side has just been appointed to the board as well.

Is Benitez cracking up ??
