Reid himself has even said he didn't see it as a dig.

He is incapable of handling any criticism. His ego is a problem.

Benítez made frequent references to Reid and said they were not a criticism of the club legend but an example of the winning mentality that needs rebuilding at Everton.

Pretty scary from an Everton perspective when you look at that. There was still 10 games left to play and he got just 13 points out of the possible 30. He has just got us something like 6 points out of a possible 36 and there are zero positive signs that anything is going to change. Quite the opposite in fact.

And therein is the difference between me and you. Can’t stand this manager and his tactics but I want Everton to win every game. Not the first time you’ve wished defeat on my team

They've been doing what I imagine is supposed to be a pressing game, but its turn into a possession one as Dunc is shouting out the number of passes made, but the pressing is completely random, disjointed and slow.

Quite weird to watch really.

I think that's a perfectly fair explanation, we'd all be better moving on and focusing on stuff that matters. Like not winning games

That's a drill they do in every training session, certainly based on the videos they put out lol

Funny how that figure is forgot by some, however when it was other managers, Koeman, Silva, and others, they where right on the case.

It's crappy little drills like that which are a waste of time. Oh look, we've kept the ball for 8 passes......comes to matchday and after 20 minutes you can count on one hand how many times we've actually kept hold of the ball for more than 4 passes.

Think the key difference was that Newcastle had had a pretty horrendous season and were already second bottom when Benitez took over. He had very little time to drag them out of the rut they were in.

At least we've hovered pretty safely above the bottom 3 so far.
