No idea to be fair. He outsmarted Benitez at the start and in that instance in the 2nd half tonight, that's for sure. He clearly watched the Brighton game because he set Hull up in exactly the same way as Brighton were set up. And they had us on strings for 20 minutes.
Would be great if he rose through the ranks. When you look at his managerial career there is clear progression.

Disastrous.

How is it disastrous when we won the game?

"Disastrous"
"Disgraceful"
"Pathetic"
"Terrible"

...WTF are some people supporting this team for if they come out with utter tripe like that when we win a game and book our place for round 4?

Have some people been that bent out of shape by Benitez being appointed that they've become alienated form an Everton away win in the FA Cup?

Horerendous. I actually feel a bit sorry you if you do feel that way.

I'm very pleased we won and so are the majority of blues. How have you become so detatched from main stream Evertonians that you'd not feel like the rest of us?
Benitez seems only capable of Pyrrhic victories.

….but @4737carlin genuinely believes they’re his fan club, the real fans who idolise him.

Ilm happy because Everton won.

You're going mad we won.

The essential difference.
Everyone’s happy we won, what fair level headed posters are unhappy with is falling behind after 45 seconds and getting the run around for 20 minutes afterwards, getting 2-1 ahead but not killing the game off, allowing them to equalise through a pathetic attempt at a tackle and needing a worldie from a player who broke his foot 3 weeks ago to win it but even then still could have gone to pens. Not to mention leaving an utter embarrassment of a striker on for 116 minutes who got outshot in the game by a centre back

He’s reverted to his Newcastle set up, super ultra negative

Scoring goals doesn’t seem to be our problem though. Defending them is.

So we’re accusing a manager of being tactically stubborn and overly negative when he changes formation and all our problems are in the defence.

There’s lots to rightly criticise him for but some of the stuff on here is just lazy

Rondon, stubborn, Rondon, nah he took Gordon off, he took Richarlison off even though he was injured, he left DCL on and got him injured, Rondon, he should have had Digne on the bench, he shouldn’t have had Digne on the bench, Rondon, why isn’t he starting three 19 year olds at once every game, he’s negative

All of this is just lazy, not very helpful, and often just inaccurate

Why not talk about some of the actual real problems:

His continual selection of Keane snd Coleman, his aversion to early substitutions, starting Mina, DCL, Gbamin on their returns from long injuries, not giving Branthwaite and Onyango (players more established than Simms and Dobbin) more time, bringing in Lonergan rather than promoting a young keeper, going to 5 at the abck rather than changing his centre back pairing

There’s literally so much stuff to poke holes at that he could do better but everyone just goes for stuff that often isn’t even true or is just irrelevant in the grand scheme of things

Doesn't fit the narrative mate - were all the worst bloos ever cos the Beni bumboys say so, especially those who tried to do something about the terminal trajectory the club is headed during the match against arsenal.

I'm more than happy with the win - the vast majority of the 120 minutes I can live without thanks very much.
