Scoring goals doesn’t seem to be our problem though. Defending them is.

So we’re accusing a manager of being tactically stubborn and overly negative when he changes formation and all our problems are in the defence.

There’s lots to rightly criticise him for but some of the stuff on here is just lazy

Rondon, stubborn, Rondon, nah he took Gordon off, he took Richarlison off even though he was injured, he left DCL on and got him injured, Rondon, he should have had Digne on the bench, he shouldn’t have had Digne on the bench, Rondon, why isn’t he starting three 19 year olds at once every game, he’s negative

All of this is just lazy, not very helpful, and often just inaccurate

Why not talk about some of the actual real problems:

His continual selection of Keane snd Coleman, his aversion to early substitutions, starting Mina, DCL, Gbamin on their returns from long injuries, not giving Branthwaite and Onyango (players more established than Simms and Dobbin) more time, bringing in Lonergan rather than promoting a young keeper, going to 5 at the abck rather than changing his centre back pairing

There’s literally so much stuff to poke holes at that he could do better but everyone just goes for stuff that often isn’t even true or is just irrelevant in the grand scheme of things
It took 3000 pages for somebody to finally post something sensible.

Personally don’t think the players like the tactics or style of play he’s trying to play. Nothing is working. Set pieces we are shocking. Needs gone nothing is changing if anything it’s slowly getting worse, the first 15/20 minutes. Jesus Christ we were horrific play like that in the premier league and we’ll be 3-0 down. I think he’s lost the dressing room and people know it, but the board are reluctant to sack him and moshiri is being stubborn. He is not the answer. Not sure who you’d bring in, I’d go for valverde or potter. To be fair I’d take anyone over this fraud.

All that does get brought up though,

You single out Rondon. Why? All the maanger's predecessors signings are letting us down. The players he's bought and allowed in like Gordon have boosted us.

Do you expect the finished job after 6 months when this club has had 4 managers that ruined us spending a fortune in the process?

I singled out Rondon as he was the worst player for me tonight, and was the obvious change up front.

I don’t expect the finished job, but I expect signs of progression, not regression.

No, not at the moment. But I'm willing to be patient because at least he can see that these players are failures and to me that's progress.

It won't get any better playing the formation we did today, but then it wouldn't be any better if we'd started with a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2 either. There is no Pep out there that will manage us and no Klopp that will turn Andre Gomes into Paul Scholes.

You reckon we wouldn't have performed better in another formation than we started? Even thought it required us to change formation during the game to start to take control? Interesting.
